First impressions of Emerson typically aren't anything to be alarmed about: soft-spoken, polite enough, and with substantial tact and understanding to be proficient at bereavement counseling; of course with bereavement comes death, and those who deal with the dead are none other than morticians. While some morticians are rather unassuming in their daily life outside of work, Emerson falls into the category of perhaps a bit eccentric, albeit pleasant - he seems to fancy everything macabre, morbid, and melancholy despite his lack of a gloomy exterior what with his bespoke suits and constant business casual attire.+There are two sides to every coin, however, and Emerson is no exception; under the guise of a charming, though somewhat odd mortician is a secret self he does his best to keep hidden from the general populace for no other reason than to save his tail and make life simpler for himself. If his way of living as he knows it is threatened, he tends to turn on his head and becomes rather condescending, even outright malicious with a silver tongue, with no real regard for anyone except himself; he has little patience in the way of these things, and is ruthless in keeping his peaceful, cozy, materialistic life in tact, no matter the cost. This two-faced, hair-triggered temper can make him come off as a bit unstable to those who manage to dig deep enough to hit a nerve; needless to say, this personalty trait has lead him to become rather reclusive in his personal shell, keeping to himself when dealing with the face of the public is no longer necessary.

Noire is Emerson's beloved pet cat who he frequents his time with at home, and even abroad; Noire's utter devotion to her owner is nearly unheard of in those of the feline persuasion, and it's not abnormal to see the man out and about with his pet right at his heels. She is a domestic shorthair of the ebony furred variety, if it wasn't made obvious by her namesake. She is rather small and svelte in stature; can't be more than eight pounds at most. Perhaps the most striking aspect of the feline is her piercing blue eyes, which share an eerily similar color to... Her owner's?
If one shares enough time with Noire, they may get an unsettling feeling about her - perhaps it's the way she looks at people with a sense of understanding that shouldn't be seen in a feline's eyes. -
