• Biography

  Rebekah was born to the life of a slave on the war galley Djinni. Without a father to precede her, she was given the Captain's surname, Stalling. She grew up on that galley, fetching odds and ends, hanging by the riggings to deliver messages, slipping into tight corners that the men couldn't get in to recover something or paint a layer of pitch to stop a leak. Years passed with errand running as the norm. None laid a finger on her as long as she did what she was told, at least until she began blossoming into womanhood. The quick, flighty little girl was slowly becoming a stunning trim beauty. Captain 'Starling' was quick to notice and hid the girl under layers of soot and grime with tiresome chores so that no other man besides himself looked at her with the same selfish greed that sat in his eyes.
  
  For 3 long years she did everything she could to stay out of Captain Starling's quarters, which wasn't easy. Every time and again she found herself unable to find work on or under the deck to disappear, and was unable to refuse his invitation. Each time, she found herself in a large standing tub of copper where the captain himself washed the filth from her skin with his rough hands. He dressed Rebekah up in fine dresses and served fine foods, trying to put her at ease, but each meal ended with him to forcing himself onto her. Finally, finding her backbone, Rebekah reach out and took the captain's firewand off of his belt hanging on the chair in front of her. With a scream, a bright gout of crimson flame spewed forth and enveloped the half naked man, who ran screaming out of his quarters and perished on the deck, his bones smoldering. Rebekah locked herself in the room and waited for her punishment. But it never came. Nearly two weeks passed until they hit land, and the crew broke down the door, grabbed her up, and threw her onto the docks with only what she could carry. Along with her precious few belongings, she took a bag of the captain's gold and the bandolier that held the life-changing firewand.
  
  Fast forward several years
  
  Rebekah had found her place as a highly sought after mercenary with a wide reaching organization, the High Water Circuit. Her current pick of employers took her out to the Hundred Warring Kingdoms where a blossoming warlord had found a match for his strength.
