• Maxilla isn't your typical human - but she is human! Instead, she's an enchanted skeleton held together by wishes and dreams. Her bones are made of chalcedony that sparkles in the daylight, and glows in the dark! The tip of her sternum and both kneecaps are faceted amethyst. Her teeth are made from opal and flash rainbow in the light, while her top and bottom canines are solid 18k gold.
  
  Max, short for Maxilla Andromeda Marrow, is a mistress of disguise - and by "mistress" I mean "sort of okay at" and by "disguise" I mean "looking sort of normal." Max is normally a glow-in-the-dark, bright blue skeleton without a hint of normal human to her - but out in public, she looks almost like a regular human being. Maxilla wears a human costume, enchanted with similar magic to the ones keeping her bones together, that zips up the back and holds slightly-obvious seams down each part of her body. When the suit is hanging or on the floor, it looks like a floppy, latex human with a satiny purple interior. Multiple parts are "tattooed," but upon closer inspection are hand-painted with rubber and latex dye. Piercings are just that - piercings. Scars are just small stitched areas that look mostly like a very old wound with the stitches still inside.
  
  The most curious aspect of Maxilla is her eyes - they aren't actually eyes. Instead, living in the sockets of her human suit, are two eyeballs, each with a pair of bat wings and a short, thin leathery tail. One has a gray iris, while the other has a minty green one. These eyeballs are actually Maxilla's pets, as well as important companions. With and without her suit, Maxilla can see perfectly fine, as if she had real eyes - but her eye bats, named Wink and Blink, act as a second pair, showing her two new views through an "invisible optic nerve." As long as the bats are within a few blocks' distance from Max, they can telepathically communicate to her with visuals as well as hold a telepathic conversation with her. That said - they're really dumb, and don't give her very good advice.
