  • Spiritual Variations: Consistent contact with spirits of all sorts, acts as a mediator between mortal and spirit plains.

  • Attire: Slate gray cotton hooded cloak lined with honey-gold satin, no undergarments, barefoot.
  • Disorders: If one considers attraction to the dark arts a disorder, then he's up shit creek in badness.
  • Feral or Cultured: A hint of both, majority cultured. Not a modern intellectual, holds tight to indigenous ways.
  • Diet: Carnivorous
  • Scars: Taurus shaped brand between breastplates.
  • Speech: Familiar with Common, although pattern is broken. He is just barely easy to understand.
  • Ritual: Differs between blessings; Simbi Anpaka requires natural, 'seductive' performance. Stone grinding bay leaf prior to the ritual as an aphrodisiac, this ritual takes place during the instinctive mating season of feral Bimini Boa's (spring / summer).

• Other Attributes and Accessory

  Root is littered with tribal markings symbolizing his splice with the Haitian Boa. They are crude seemingly painted finger marks stretched over his face, shoulders, upper-back and midsection. On arms, hands and legs the flesh is burnt orange scales with speckles of black. This is classified by his people as a blessing: the open doors for spiritual empowerment and a gift from Simbi. Beneath the cloak Root is completely nude.
  
  His eyes are slitted. His fingernails are elongated, approximately one inch long and half an inch thick. His canines are unusually sharp, normal sized, but not venomous. As his powers developed and his body opened a gateway for spiritual contact, he was increasingly difficult to handle energy wise.
  
  : Knapsack.
  : Vial of bleach mixed with ammonia, used for creating severe stomach ache and difficulty breathing. (2)
  : Empty vial reserved for demon blood. Occasionally used for human blood as well. (3)
  : Small ceramic bowl used for mixing, grinding and other preparations. Blessed by Anpaka, as long as the bowl is used for positive potion. (1)
  
  : Black hooded cloak with honey-gold trim, equipped with two pockets.
  : Short, narrow arrowhead dagger, usually tipped with paralytic poison. Strapped onto his ankle with leather stolen from Allen's cadaver.
  : Taurus shaped amulet used for sacraficial ritual to Kalfu.

• The Ideal Traveling Houngan.

  Sani-Root (legitimate birth name) was born an Anutokt houngan, a tribe rural to dense forest. The Anutokt are peoples separated from Haitian Vodou tribes who wanted to synch ideas with Christianity, making them 'rebels' of sorts. The process of becoming a Priest is similar to that of Christianity / Catholicism regarding trial and error, but the rural Followers of Loa reserve special practices unusual to mainstream servitude. Children born Bokor are blessed with unusual levels of spiritual energy, giving them foresight (ability to see and handle spirits) and strength to reanimate the dead*.
  
  Bokor are sorcerers. They serve light and dark causes, but this does not guarantee equality between causes. Root has chosen a bath of darkness due to his dislike of westernization. He views the deities of negative force as beings who offer choice, individuality, and freedom to those who worship, and following this notion, he is fond of his practice. The idea is adapted from the Christian bible where Lucifer (symbolic serpent) is the gateway to Adam and Eve's exile from the Garden of Eden, giving the mortals the ability to think and fend for themselves. Although Root's studies of Christianity / Catholicism boost his meddling in sorcery and Vodou, he does his best to go against their values.
  
  However, recently bombarded by westernization, his culture has dwindled and the natives have been run out of their homes. This has forced the Bokor to travel, which he has never done before, and thus his attitude toward outsiders is jaded and inconsistent. He strongly dislikes westernization in every sense, and refuses to become part of it. This is due to his exposure to negativity from Westerners.
  
  Dark magic is his specialty, but he is not evil by moral definition. Even 'dark' deities have the ability to heal themselves, therefore that natural power does exist within Root. As light magic is his weaker side, he seeks aid from those harboring stronger Light qualities, often disgruntled by their strict moral code and lack of open-mindedness. He is a very helpful individual and dislikes prejudice against the dark arts (necromancy, poison) and will not aid those who deny its usefulness.
  
  Root's closest deity relation is with Simbi Anpaka, associated with the serpent, leaves and poison. The next is Kalfu, the most disliked of the lesser Loa, as he is associated with death.

• Moral Good, Moral Evil

  Root sees the spiritual energy of certain possessions color based.
  
  Children: Purplish-blue hue.
  Adolescence: Light green hue.
  Teenager: Navy blue with hint of gray hue.
  Adult: Ashen gray with minimal white tint.
  Elder: Gray-black; weakest detectable aura depending on state of mind.
  
  While it is possible to detect negative energy without use of color code, the availability of this method helps other Houngan / Mamba to avoid contact with purely dark Bokor's. A fully tainted Bokor is likely to be overwhelmed with power and face his or her own death if the spirit in possession of another has exceptional negative strength.
  
  In Root's case, the uneven balance of 'good' and 'evil' blessings in his soul are difficult to control. Often the Light Blessings (Simbi) will struggle against the Dark (Kalfu) if Root begs for assistance from it, which recently he has. The inner turmoil Root faces heightens on a daily basis if he does not exercise his value of good moral by healing or assisting those in the name of good.
