• Description

  At fifteen feet long, this snake-like creature is a rather large example of his species. While his torso is averagely long for any kind of anthropomorphic lizard (roughly 5ft), his lower half is what composes most of his absurd body length.
  
  Quno is a Naga that would be described as pretty to most people who see him. Most of his body is covered in beautiful, smooth sapphire blue scales, broken by purple ring patterns all down his backside. His underbelly is a softer dark purple color that contrasts well with the rest of his appearance. Despite not showing any other traits of being a cobra, his head is adorned with an eternally-flared hood.
  
  His hands have webbing in between the fingers, outing him as a creature who prefers the comfort of the water over dry land. Each finger ends in a razor sharp claw that could easily be used as a natural weapon were the situation to grow dire enough.
  
  His eyes are a soft mint green, flanked on either side by black, be it of his sclera or always predatory looking slit pupils. The top of his head is adorned with darker blue ridged spikes tightly clustered together, appearing as a type of hair.
  
  His clothing choice shows both pragmatism and narcissism. While his usual armor and casual clothing consist of various thicknesses of leather, they're decorated with silken cloth strips that accentuate and flow with the slithering motions of his body, circumstances where he'll wear anything heavier are few and far between.
  
  When speaking, his voice is soft and somewhat raspy, living up to his race's reputation he constantly sounds like the devil on one's shoulder, whispering sweet seductive nothings to them. While he does hiss his S', he considers it an annoying stereotype and avoids doing it around strangers.

• Backstory

  Raised among only other Naga with the rare other visiting reptile, Quno has grown up from birth seeing things with scales as inherently better than anything without due to his family's belief in the same, be they human or anthropomorphic animal. While never quite having the taste for racism, he tended to show the circumstances of his growth even after departing for the world outside.
  
  While at first only unwary of those without scales, after leaving home he would be abused and assaulted by those with the assumption that reptiles were inherently either wicked or insufferable enough to deserve being "taken down a notch", irregardless of Quno's softer nature. Eventually he grew sick of it, and, starting with a very bad night in which he crushed one of his abuser's spines in his coils after turning away a knife, decided to, at least to a degree, embrace the reputation his kind had.
  
  At seventeen years of age, the young Naga made the acquaintance of a Nightblade, a cutthroat and thief who utilized magic to help their trade. Enthralled by it and wishing to better himself, Quno put his reptilian pride behind himself and went under the man's wing, spending years learning how to use his body as a weapon, stay silent and small despite his immense and growing length and working his blades into an elegant dance along with the naturally flowing movement of his muscled coils.
  
  Now much older in the present day, Quno wanders the world taking on various jobs that require his skills and enjoying life as it comes and the various jobs that present themselves to him.

• Personality

  Aqunos' personality is best described as a hard shell with a creamy center.
  
  Years of abuse at the hands of less tolerant individuals have led him to embrace the worst stereotypes of reptiles. Wearing a veneer of his own type of racism, he often looks down on anything without scales, expounding the superiority of reptilian types and being insufferably smug about it.
  
  He even embraces the most feared stereotypes about Naga by having no hesitation towards eating intelligent creatures. However, even he thinks swallowing things still alive is too far, and will always kill them first. A fate like being crushed to death by stomach muscle or digested alive isn't something he'd wish on his worst enemy.
  
  He's a snarky sort, who will gladly heap insults on those who prove themselves to be a burden while only giving the most begrudging respect to those worthy of it who he doesn't also consider a friend.
  
  He knows he's pretty and he flaunts it, openly and eagerly wearing the mantle of a narcissist to make people both underestimate and dislike him to further his mask, this is why his leathers have silk woven into the scraps to accentuate what he knows other people will see as a beautiful scale coloration.
  
  He's likely to do any given thing based on matters of personal amusement, from the jobs he accepts to starting bar fights, it's all about keeping things in life a little more interesting.
  
  Rather a hedonist, he enjoys gorging himself on food (aided by his serpentine nature allowing for meals as big as he is), good drinks, and, assuming they can tolerate his posturing, seducing both women and men into nights spent in the comfort of his coils... among other things.
  
  Despite the negative reputation, cold mask, and attempts to push others away, those who stick around despite his attempts to play into stereotypes and manage to earn a spot in his heart as true friends, regardless of race, find out the person he truly is.
  
  While normally speaking in a cold, emotionless voice, he noticeably becomes warmer talking to friends. And while he doesn't hiss out his S' while wearing his mask due to not wanting to prove more stereotypes, he actually does talk like that when speaking openly to people he doesn't have to carefully consider every word around.
  
  He adores and is utterly loyal to those who are close enough to break his mask, becoming a friend who will gladly throw himself in the way of weapons to protect them. Snark is replaced by lighthearted a playful teasing, and his posturing stops entirely... at least behind closed doors when he doesn't have to play into his reputation in public.
  
  When just relaxing with friends, he tends to be one of the laziest people a person is likely to know, using his own coils as a makeshift chair, dangling from a rafter or other high place that can support his weight or finding the nearest body of water to lazily float around in, and being stubborn about doing anything other than enjoying things at his own tempo.
  
  One of the biggest shifts between being a stranger and a friend is just how little Quno cares about personal space. He'll wrap friends in his coils and not let them go while he cuddles them aggressively and leeches body heat, gladly turning himself into a bed for a given companion every night, and giving soft words of encouragement and kindness as he dozes off even if the relationship is strictly platonic.
  
  Despite being an assassin, when it comes to the actual deeds, he tends to focus on targets marked as deserving of it, be they corrupt officials or others on the dark side of life like murderers and the such.
  
  While admitting that sometimes cruelty is necessary for a greater cause, he's still too soft at heart to commit or approve of acts of incredible sadism, or when cruelty for cruelty's sake is the only reason to do a deed, and such will make him more and more furious until eventually forcing his hand and blade to step in. For a similar reason, he despises overly avaricious people, while he enjoys a good payday and enjoying the finer things in life from it, he has a resentment towards those who would do anything for money regardless of the morality of a situation.

• Biology and Abilities

  Aqunos, as his name, color, and the webbing on his fingers would suggest, is a Naga heavily favoring the water. While he can survive well without, he's most at home in any location damp, wet, or submerged.
  
  While capable of moving relatively fast and agile on land, his true strength is most present in the water. He can easily swim as fast as thirty miles an hour and with enough precision to make hairpin turns.
  
  While his offshoot of Naga can easily hold their breaths for upwards of two hours, Quno went even further and used his nightblade magic to put a permanent water breathing effect on himself, making it not uncommon for him to spend an entire night underwater, be it stalking quarry or actually sleeping.
  
  Another thing to his species is an inherit magical sensitivity and hydromancy. Quno can easily manipulate water in a magical fashion, allowing him to create currents in the water to swim even faster, stream it out of its source to entrap and drown foes... or something as mundane as heat up a pool of water he's bathing in so he can bask comfortably.
  
  Like most snakes, serpents, ect. ect. Quno has a very elastic body that can ingest prey up to his size whole. While he strongly dislikes the idea of eating something still alive, it makes for a very simple, practical, and beneficial (to him) way of disposing of corpses after assassinations. Being robust enough to safely digest the poisons he uses means he can devour them as soon as their heartbeat stops.
  
  In his assassin work, despite his massive length he's trained himself to be completely silent as he moves and monitor his lengthy lower half to prevent his tail from knocking, jarring, making noise, or tripping people. He absolutely excels at climbing and hiding in high places as he can simply move from point to point without having to jump or grip. And due to his aquatic nature, he's an especially perfect assassin for targets expected to be crossing over or near bodies of water.
  
  Drawn into combat, Quno proves to be a very hard to pin opponent who overwhelms the enemy from all directions. Adept in a type of swordplay with dual scimitars that make it look more like a dance, if his blade doesn't slay the foe, he forces them to be so focused on swordplay they forget that his entire lower half is a weapon itself - right until he coils them with half a ton of muscle that crushes their spine and leaves them open for the final blow.
  
  His Nightblade magic is short-duration invisibility, a short range shadowstep, and shadow daggers. And he's more than willing to turn his hydromancy into an extension of his art, wrapping target's heads in balls of water so they can't scream and drown, or using watery tendrils to drag them into the river where a successful kill is all but garunteed.

  Often how he's introduced to strangers:
  
  Slithering down the central road of the city, the Naga glanced from side to side, minty eyes locking onto those who dared to meet his gaze. "You're new here, aren'tcha?" A passerby said, eyeing the creature with equal parts suspicion and struck by the color of his scales.
  
  The snake curled his lips into a grin, "Yes, but unfortunately not long to stay. A place like this isn't like to hold my attention for long, much less because all of the creatures here are unscaled." He glanced to the one who addressed him again, well aware that he was a part of that group, "Mayhaps if I find other reptiles, that or if these lessers bask in how beautiful I am." He said with an accentuated sway of his body before continuing on his way, leaving the passerby gawking at the blatant superiority complex and narcissism.
  
  The softer side he shows around friends:
  
  Quno hummed softly as he rested his eyes, enjoying his comfortable, high perch coiled around the branches of a tree. "Hey, Quno!" A voice called as his friend walked up to the tree.
  
  Though he didn't open his eyes, a noticeable warm smile crossed his serpentine features, "Morning, what bringsss you here today, friend?"
  
  "We've got a job, Sapphy. " His friend responded, crossing his arm and waiting his companion's response.
  
  Quno sighed and opened his eyes, "Ahhh, mussst we? I wasss so enjoying my day so far."
  
  "You know the answer to that, lazy snake." His friend responded with a sigh.
  
  He moved and shifted so that he was hanging upside down, danging by his coils from the tree. He gave a wide yawn at that, his split and unhingeable jaws making for a massive and uneven yawn, "Fine, I sssuppose I'm a little hungry anyway." He hissed out with a teasing smirk, fully intending to make his friend uncomfortable by mentioning his preference for eating his marks.
