S T R E N G T H S physical prowess
strength, agility and senses have all been augmented. strength and agility is supernatural, but not without its limits. senses can acutely detect the faintest of breathing patterns and heartbeats. smelling is sensitive enough to smell fear and chemicals associated with fight or flight responses. eyesight is only supernaturally augmented in the darkness, as natural light (and some artificial light) is disturbing at the very least. regeneration
wounds and dismemberment can be healed, slowly over time. even in the event of decapitation, the vampire is paralysed until it can piece itself back together. this abilities uses a great deal of energy, forcing the vampire to feed to sustain abilities. unless dismembered pieces are set on fire and ashes spread, there is always a chance the vampire can regenerate. dismembered pieces can be separated, but care must be taken as they will attempt to return to complete their corpse. immune to most diseases and conditions. immortality
gifted with agelessness, maius will never die naturally. unless he is dismembered and the body parts burned. ashes must be spread in the wind, otherwise a magical ritual can be performed to restore the pile of ash to bone and blood. immortal strength is based purely on how much blood is consumed. if maius has not ingested enough blood, he begins to painfully desiccate. in this form he is motionless and stone-like, and unless he is awakened by magical means, he requires a great deal of blood to awaken him and restore his strength. due to his immortality, he must be invited into the homes of mortals. manipulation
maius is able to glamour certain individuals. mundanes are the easiest to manipulate, especially if they are weak-minded. individuals who are strong of mind and soul may resist the glamouring. supernaturals may also be affected by the manipulation, though it is unlikely. supernaturals are likely to be affected the glamour that shields his wings vs the glamour of forcing actions or words onto someone. |
W E A K N E S S E S experience
maius is not an experienced vampire. his inability to cover his tracks among his poor grasp on manipulation means he could out himself easily as a vampire. supernaturals could easily take advantage of this. sunlight
maius is damaged severely by the sun. it takes only a few minutes to induce complete incineration. brief exposure results in painful burns that are slow to heal. some artificial light, if bright enough, can be disturbing at the least. maius currently does not possess an enchanted item to allow him the ability to walk in daylight. he seeks the services of an experienced witch who may allow him this honour. silver
of all precious metals, silver is the most damaging of materials. garlic and other herbs are also an annoyance, but silver can bind and incapacitate a vampire. it causes burning to the touch, and ingestion could weaken them for longer periods. fire
fire is the necessary ingredient to cause a vampire their true death. after dismemberment, flames will purify them completely. the resulting ash must be spread, for a pile of vampire dust may be restored to blood and bone with a spell powerful enough. magic
maius is completely susceptible to magic. having been controlled in the past by necromancers, maius is predisposed to be weak to dark magics. spells and curses can force him into desiccation or induce a temporary death. holy relics
maius does not fear the sight of holy relics as much as he avoids them. holy water causes burning to the touch, and a cross or rosary above a doorway is enough to keep him from entering. dismemberment
dismemberment, when paired with the cleansing nature of a fire, can lead to the permanent and true death of a vampire. dismemberment alone does not cause the immediate death of a vampire, but keeping the body parts away from one another prevents the vampire from piecing itself back together. if the vampire's heart (biologically nonfunctional) is removed and kept in the possession of a witch or someone magically inclined, the holder of the heart can force the vampire to do whatever bidding they please. |
