Zadie

When she was just starting to walk and talk, Zadie, had begun to talk and speak to things that weren't there. When pain was inflicted on her she didn't cry out as a child, all of this struck and frightened her parents. With a reputation to uphold they quickly drop her off at an Asylum for them to take care of her. Since the age of 3 she lived in the asylum as one of the patients. They tested on her like they did all the other kids, trying to "help" her. As she grew old she grew to identify that she had two voices clear in her head. They told her commands and threatened her. Both constantly told her everyone was out to get her and wanted to kill her, making her paranoid. From all this she also became a violent person, towards doctors, which ended up most of her time restrained to chairs, locked away, or in a straight jacket. Now that she is older the voices work to try and plot a way to escape from the asylum to try and live normally and be away from the testing and pain.

If played in more of a fantasy setting she has the power to control flame, but not to much. This reason would be another reason she is sent away because of her parents fear of her. In this version a few other patients would have powers as well but the doctors have an injection they give them everyday to null the powers.

The doctors test on her to enhance her ability to heal, more than normal people. They also test on her to see if they can figure out how to make people live longer or immortal. Doctors also work on trying to figure out how she uses fire to use her as a weapon. Since she is just a patient with no one to claim or care for her a few doctors use her to relieve their sexual urges.
