Selkitty

As a character that personifies its player, Selkitty's history is that of the players, or what is created for a scenario (in the extremely rare case of RP). Selkitty is less of a roleplay character as an extension of her player to meet and chat with people.

There was that one time when I considered writing a story that placed Sel in the chakat universe and explained the whole quantum state mumbo jumbo and her ship the NeverThere (a stolen stealth prototype turned pirate ship) but as that is a dead project that was never finished this will have to do as an explanation.

Super short version:
The Neverthere is a prototype stealth ship pioneering optical camouflage and a new FTL engine in their original universe. The optical camo worked flawlessly and combined with other stealth based technologies to reduce other signatures the ship easily found its name in NeverThere. For 'who's to say it was? you have no proof.'

The engine on the other hand, unimaginatively labeled the 'quantum drive' was an attempt to copy the slipstream drive technology of a race of visitors from beyond their home galaxy. This was an utter failure and instead turned into an inter-dimensional trap sending the ship and crew to other copies of their universe.

The biggest catch for Sel, however, is that due to her proximity to the engine during a catastrophic failure she has become the singular link between the multiverses. As the single point tying each dimension they travel to together, she takes the form of herself in that dimension, and that version of herself rewrites itself to her current state aboard the ship. Thus 'Quantum Snep'.
