the Hound

Tasked with guarding the gates to the underworld; Remi is what most cultures and lore know as a hellhound, a black shuck or even a church grim. A relative or even a mirror to the stories of Garmr and Cwn Annwn. If this fails to explain the hound then to put it generally she is a large, black demonic hound that is created for the acquisition/escort of souls to their designated places (where ever that may be; since every religion believes differently where their souls may go); protection of said entry points and of course the consumption of sin. Unlike most of her kin, the female dislikes being associated with simply being an omen of death and destruction. Even if it is the truth.
STRENGTH
- Senses -
Remi's senses are heightened; far more than any other creature. This is naturally her strongest asset as it aids in the tracking and acquisition of sin, lost souls and those she is tasked to find. However, these are not fool proof and can be tricked by an experienced individual utilizing masking procedures. Once upon the trail of her target the female hound cannot be deterred from her course.
- Sight;While utilizing human glamour, her sight is above normal (not like a feline's sight) but well enough that she can see at a further distance and scope than mortals. In low-light situations, her vision is superb but is not fool proof. Within Hound form everything is amplified by twice.
- Smell; Insanely strong, cannot only pick up on the scents of the living and other supernatural but on the dead and can determine the space in which a person or creature had died, the time of death, how they died and more. However, it comes with a fair handicap; the further away something is it becomes harder to determine where they are, much like if they were in the grasp of a holy being their scent becomes difficult to find.
- Touch; Sensitive not not overtly so that it is uncomfortable.
- Hearing; Above average, on par with her sense of smell. Remi's senses of hearing are impeccable and often can pick up on the slightest nuances of speech, if some one steps on a twig some where far away or if a human sneezes but rally means it as an insult. In both forms it is on equal footing.
-Fire & Brimstone.-Scorched Earth
Remi has an natural affiliation with the element of fire, charred wood and hot earth. Within hound form her foot steps leave a burning wake of prints, can cause fires and burns if agitated properly in to the use of her magical properties. Her mouth can appear glowing like the mouth of a place of volcanic activity when sparked or imbued to bite with greater force. As a human it takes concentrated ability to conjure flames but can accelerate the temperature of her body. Thus causing steam to issue out from her mouth in wisps, a simmering appearance upon the air or flecks of ember drifting on the wind. Makes for an excellent portable, space heater or bed warmer.
- Strength -
Greater then that of a human but not as strong as some of the titans of the supernatural community. Remi can hold her own within a conflict between others and can utilize her stamina blessed to her by her natural inclination. However, within a place of conflict the female tends to prefer fighting in tandem with a partner to over take a prey item or an enemy. As it ensures a higher success rate in a hunt or in a fight. She may not be able to lift heavy items but her lethal bite and intelligence make up for it.
- Healing -
The regeneration of cells, flesh and the like are at an accelerated rate - the smaller the wound the easier it is to heal, anything large and grievous needs time and cleaning to heal. Any parts of the body that are lost are unable to regenerate and if the severity of the wound is enough then it can cause scar tissue or markings upon flesh and fur. Most illnesses or ailments are uncommon unless caused by a being of internal or holy leanings. And much like her brother she is not immortal and can die from causes such as physical violence (only to be reborn else where) or even a strong, violent illness.
WEAKNESS
- Metals -
Iron and Silver blessed by an infernal or by a holy preacher of the highest conclave will cause a medley of issues for the hound. Materials as simply as a necklace, ring to weaponry with purpose can cause poisoning and weakening if exposed upon flesh. Causing blistering and rashing of the highest and most discomforting degree. A weapon made to injure if not fatally wound Remi will take longer to heal of at all. Tends to avoid such items.
- Holy Items & Creatures -
Discomforted with the idealism of stepping foot upon sacred religious spaces, much like her brother any prolonged visitation of such areas of worship cause the female to react with nausea and illness. Exposure to relics that were blessed by saints, holy water and crosses made of silver cause recoil and if exposed to bare flesh can burn and blister her skin. This is because regardless of purpose and interest, Remi much like Peter is a byproduct of infernal creation.
Has also a naturally defensive and argumentative stance with celestial and holy beings such as Angels.
- Water & Cold -
Long term exposure to a drop in temperature and or being submerged in liquid can cause the slowing or even halting of the Hound in to a remissive or hibernative state. Even if a little nip in temperature may not bother the female hound all too much but temperatures that are hovering on heavy snow fall, arctic and sub-zero bother her completely if not utterly. She prefers to be in a warmer, cozier state of affairs if anything and tends to bundle up ridiculously in chilly weather.
