What to Expect from Krepta

Crossovers
If you've read nearly anything on this character so far, it's probably become apparent that Krepta has been designed to play in a lot of different worlds and settings. This means that she's likely visited fandoms, worlds, and eras different from the one that we're currently playing in. While I certainly would never introduce crossover characters from other genres or fandoms without talking things out first, the places Krepta has visited and the people she's met in those places may still come up in character conversation or in her internal dialogue.

These are Krepta's life experiences, and they're part of her character. Unless we're doing a plot where her memories are being affected by something, then those experiences are bound to come up. If you're not comfortable with this, then let's talk about plotting around those experiences. I'm not keen on changing Krepta herself unless it's an AU I'm super into, but there are mechanics baked into her lore that can help with the problem as a compromise. We'll just need a little more plotting before we begin.

The only current exception to this is the comics AU I have for her. I'm still hammering out the details of that, but if you're okay with it, then I'm happy to use that version of her instead.

On the other foot, if you're into crossovers and 'What If' adventures, then say so! Krepta can take your character just about anywhere and anywhen with the right plot.

She's a Spicy Lady
Krepta has a kind heart, but also a sharp tongue. She tends to follow her own rules and moral compass, and she's not afraid to speak her mind when others' actions don't feel right to her. She likes to banter and give teasing nick-names, and she can be physically rowdy as a sign of affection. Krepta likes children and young people, but she's not allergic to a little tough love. She's got a strong personality, is the point, and Krepta's far from a one sided coin.

She's also had a pretty rough past, and though Krepta's got it pretty well together these days, it's not a zero percent chance that something from that past might rise to the surface again. Sometimes emotions get choppy. I can't promise zero angst.

If your character is someone who can't handle that kind of personality, and you don't want to deal with the in character angst or arguments that will potentially follow, then Krepta probably isn't a good match for them. I like to believe that I play her pretty well nuanced and with plenty of levity where it's called for, but she's still a bright light that can cast a fairly long shadow under the right circumstances, and I believe its important for people to be well informed with what kind of story they're interacting with.

Please remember that I am not my character, and just because Krepta is mad doesn't mean that I am. Nor does it mean that all of her opinions are correct. She's a flawed character-- that's part of what brings her to life! ♡

Romance?
Romance is complicated with Krepta. I'm more than happy to let your character have a crack at it, but know that she's got a lot of ticks, and that they're probably in for a bumpy ride. Romance plots will likely be very slow burn unless your character has some serious charm, but sometimes that's part of the fun. I do have a few potential romance plots for her if interested, but please only pick them up if you're patient enough to wait for good things.

Where romance is concerned, I almost always prefer that character relationships are formed naturally over the course of our story. That means that even if my characters have a predefined relationship in their history (canon roleplayers, I'm lookin' at you), I am not looking to play out that relationship as a given unless I have specifically said otherwise. There are occasional exceptions, but please don't push the matter.

I may really enjoy a ship, but my comfort levels in playing it out depend on a lot more than just the characters. Canons change depending on who's writing them, and sometimes I may like the ship, but I may not yet be at that comfort level with the player or with a character of mine I may just be starting to get to know. I like to be able to feel out the situation as we go.

As most of my rules, if I have specifically said I'm okay with something, then please go with that. I'm not contradicting myself, I may just be at a different comfort level with that specific situation and time.

You are always welcome to bring up ship ideas, but please respect if I say it's not going to work out or if I want more slow burn. Generally it's better to start plotting potential romance if both characters are somewhat already flirting/bantering and have had time to get comfortable with each other. There are generally spicy sheets for most if not all of my characters upon request if you want to understand them more on a romantic level.

Anything before that is probably more in the realm of 'what if's', which can be fun to talk about, but I dislike being pinned down by them plot-wise, especially where canon characters are concerned. People get very uncomfy sometimes when you play canons.

Where's all the Stuff?!
Hi there! If you interacted with Krepta prior to 2022, you'll notice that a lot has changed. Krepta is still mostly the same character, but I've had Krepta in one incarnation or another since I was in middle school, and every now and then her story tends to get a little bloated, considering how many different people and worlds she interacts with. Either that, or there was some old baggage associated with one story or another that I wanted to shed. It was time to condense and rework things so that they made sense again.

If your character has interacted with Krepta and you'd still like to have them in her story, then I'm totally happy to have that happen! Most interactions won't be too badly affected by the changes I've made, but in case they are, feel free to hit me up any time and we can chat about it. I've also renamed and changed some of the past characters and locations she's interacted with in order to free up her story a bit. If anything mentioned in her information seems to echo those past interactions, it isn't that I didn't enjoy our time together, I just needed a little better control of her story. If any details are still too close to your own stuff, feel free to let me know that too, and we can work together to fix it. It's never my intent to poach other's ideas.

Character Specific Limits

General
✦ By nature Krepta tends to get into a lot of fights. I'm okay with ad-libbing them and seeing where things go. I'm also okay with talking out the end game of the fight before we begin so that things aren't so up in the air. Communication is important, so if something about the way our characters are interacting is making you uncomfortable or nervous, let's talk it out! But I won't know unless you say something, and I can struggle with recognizing needs that aren't expressed to me directly, so speak up please. I'll never be rude or bite your head off for asking questions or telling me something isn't working for you.

Friends Only Please
*I'm really only comfortable with the following types of characters being played with Krepta where friends are involved. If you're a friend of mine that's been playing with me a while already, we're golden. For everyone else, sorry, but I've just had too many bad experiences.

✦ Characters who are under 18. As much as kids are cute, I don't trust strangers with them. I am also not looking for child-like adults. Everyone has to be able to reasonably take care of themselves both physically and emotionally. Krepta momming people is adorable, but its not fun when its forced on me. NPCs are fine as long as they remain peripheral characters.

✦ Plain vanilla humans. Outside of special circumstances I just find them boring. They also tend to have trouble keeping up with Krepta outside of her rescuing them constantly. Give your characters some powers, or gadgets, or weird skills to keep things interesting please! They don't have to have supernatural abilities or be something other than human, but they do have to be experienced enough to hold their own in the face of Krepta's weird world without extensive hand holding or comforting.

Player Limits

You can find the nitty gritty of my limits and such here, but my two biggest requirements are that you are over 18 if you interact with me (or 21+ if you're wanting to write romance), and that you send me a sample post before we begin if I can't otherwise find your writing to get a sense of how we'd gel. I'm not too picky about the quantity of writing that happens, but quality is important to me.

She pulled a hand from her pocket, moving carefully so as not to startle the man, who was already on edge. She reached into the deer hide bag slung over her shoulder, navigating past the massive tome instead to the cool circles of metal at the bottom, and pulled one out. It was a coin. She showed it to him, and it glinted a tired gold in the low light.

"When I came here, I took only what I could carry. From the way you're guarding that thing, I'll assume it's worth quite a lot. Probably more than I can pay. This is from a dead world," she said, her voice pensive, quietly sad. "This is from a world who made a wish on the monkey's paw. I couldn't tell you the name of their people. Nobody could anymore. I need you to understand that."

Crap! Ah Crap!

How could she have made such a stupid mistake? And what the hell were city police doing with that kind of technology? Krepta had known that Denver had somewhat of a reputation for the weird, but this was ridiculous! Her muscles were still screaming where they had tensed involuntarily too hard under the unkind ministrations of the electrified net. She had been lucky to get away, but luck had had nothing to do with the ambush that had been waiting for her.

As she hurried through the damp night, Krepta caught the sound of muffled footsteps behind her and chanced a look over one shoulder. It was a thing. A thing in a sleek, dark suit and eye-spots that made her head spin and where the hell was the rest of his face? Krepta ran just a little bit faster, not eager to meet the business end of the bad Sci-Fi special hot on her tail.

The only thing worse than capes were creepy capes. The Cape explained the net though at least. They always had those kinds of gadgets, and Krepta was sure that this one was trying to go in for the kill now. She was limping along, still stunned from his net and on the run. He thought he had her.

Good luck with that, Pajamas! Krepta thought with stubborn smugness. The Cape was following her on foot, which meant that he had probably shot that net off a building somewhere and couldn't fly. She on the other hand...!

They were coming to a break in the winding side streets where they opened up into a series of parking garages, and just in time, it seemed. Krepta could hear the footsteps getting closer to her. He was fast for a little guy.

As soon as the mouth of the narrow street they were running through turned once again into the wider city roads, Krepta hurled herself into the air with a determined grunt, ignoring her still protesting legs. The dragon's wings snapped open, and one thunderous downstroke after another she was rising past concrete and her own laboring reflection in an office building's dark glass. And then just as suddenly the left one seized and crumpled again, and Krepta swore that she could hear thunder in her head to go with the white hot strike of pain that lanced through it.

She came crashing back down to earth, an ungraceful tangle of limbs that made their landing directly into a cluster of nearby trash cans. The last of them were still noisily clattering away as Krepta surged back to her feet again and spun to face her pursuer. This was bad, very bad. She couldn't fly, she could chance shifting, and she couldn't look directly at the goon without starting to feel sick!

But no. No, Krepta knew that she could handle this. She didn't have a choice. Giving up wasn't an option, and it was just one cape. She just had to knock the guy out and then she could find somewhere to patch herself up and rest for a little bit. She could handle one cape, couldn't she? It wasn't as if the guy was Superman or something.

"Though you'd grab me by the horns, huh? You messed with the wrong bull, buddy," Krepta growled, rearing back. Her scaled shadow made an impressive silhouette against the light of the streetlamp behind her, an angry, primordial shape that spread and ate up the ground between them. Krepta came down with an angry thump, then with a toss of her horns charged straight at the hero, head down.

It was a calculated blow, a move meant to strike the Cape with more plated head than bone. It wouldn't kill, she didn't do that, but it would hurt and he might wish that she had later. And she hoped it would knock the wind out of Spooky for long enough that Krepta could make a clean getaway without any further fuss.

"Not dead yet," replied a strained voice.

Krepta hadn't forgotten how much it hurt to be shot, that was a hard thing to forget, but the refresher course certainly had put it in the forefront of her mind. She knew she had been lucky. The bullet had just grazed her. It could have hit an artery or an organ. She could have been dead.

Still that was going to make a nice scar, right along the edge of her hip, and her nice pants were done for. It was a damn shame. She had been hoping to hang onto those.

Also, it hurt like a bitch.

But Krepta was no stranger to pain, and there was still a job to be done. She sucked air through her teeth and floundered about for a weapon of her own. The dragon could certainly take care of these goons, but it was a tight fit at best on her own, never mind with Blue in with her, and she wouldn't have any extra space to maneuver.

Krepta tried hard not to think about the potential consequences of these maniacs shooting up the inside of a submarine as she looked around, grasping desperately for ideas. Her eyes fell on one of the room's tables. It was big enough for at least four to eat at-- plenty of cover, but small enough that she was pretty sure they could fit it through the door. It also looked to be pretty solid metal. Fancy. Bulletproof? Maybe.

"Blue, the table," she shouted over the din. She struggled to her feet, hauling herself to the far side of the room and out of the direct range of more fire. "Think we could use it as a shield? We gotta get outta here."

Krepta's head was ducked, eyes carefully and warily watching for any signs of fear. She had realized somewhat in hindsight, that surprising a vampire with telekinetic abilities with a massive flying predator might not have been high on her list of wise life choices today. But-- she had been excited.

Being a Walker was isolating. She didn't have many friends-- at least, not friends she could talk to and just sit and eat pizza with like normal people. No, her friends were bounty hunters, outcasts, world eaters, monsters. The kind of people you could say anything to and they wouldn't react, wouldn't run away. She smiled at them with one eye, and watched for the knife with the other, but they were the only ones who stuck around.

This was... this was refreshing, and she had gotten a little ahead of herself.

Krepta's lips formed a thin line of annoyance. She watched the man jog away, and for a moment considered letting him go. This was getting more and more complicated by the second. Clearly he thought he was doing right, whatever he was doing, and maybe he was telling the truth. Krepta had almost preferred a straight cut smash and grab. This was the kind of complex problem that she had been afraid of having to deal with playing hero like some kind of costumed loon.

But Krepta's conscience wouldn't let her just turn around and leave anymore than it had let her sit out and let the theft go by in the first place. And she really, really didn't like being dismissed like that. It ticked her off. Never tick off a dragon.

There was another rush of wind, but not from the same direction the first one had come from. No, this one came from behind, from where the woman had been. Had been. She wasn't there anymore.

Something heavy landed in the dark in front of Noah with a muffled thump. Something scaly. Something big. A muscular tail whispered across the well polished floor of the museum, and the dragon crouched before him like a massive gargoyle in the gloom. Her cat-like eyes glowed a baleful green.

When she spoke though, the same tired voice that had belonged to the woman was what came out, though it was firmer now, and there was a hint of a warning growl starting to bubble up beneath it. Krepta was not someone you just brushed off. Krepta was not someone you ignored. Krepta wanted answers, and she wanted them now.

"Explain," the dragon rumbled.

Krepta was a little too old for trick or treating– at least in her own world. She didn’t know the exact customs of this one, but it was safe to assume that things would be no different here– though she seemed to remember something about beggars being some of the origins of the infamous yearly door to door search for sweets.

If not for her temper, Krepta could probably reasonably pass for one. But in the days where she had known the streets all too well herself, she had relied more on thievery than handouts. Bowing her head to the mercy of the monied class had always stuck in her craw, and that was true now as much it had been then. Krepta hadn’t even bothered to attempt that route.

All the same, she did need a way into people’s houses tonight, and one that wouldn’t get the majority screaming bloody murder. Lucky for her, Krepta had stumbled across a stranger, older tradition that still had some living roots within this city. It was something normally practiced more towards the winter holidays, but so far Krepta had gotten away with borrowing it for the harvest season. People seemed to avoid questioning her antics as long as she continued to dance somewhere between entertaining and terrifying. Or perhaps they just appreciated the novelty.

There came a sharp rap at Destan’s door.

This particular house was decorated with glowing baubles strung along the outside. Krepta took a moment to admire them, their colorful light glinting off of white bone and twisted antlers as she bowed her head a little, watching the threshold through deep shadowed sockets.

The mouth of the skull parted slightly, nestling a long lower jaw into the shaggy black bear skin that Krepta wore around her shoulders as a cloak. The head was more deer than horse, which was more traditional for this little game, though it couldn’t quite be said to be that either. Those crooked, pointed teeth were nothing that had ever belonged to any prey animal in anyone’s bestiary anywhere or anywhen.

“Fair friend, fair friend, won’t you open your door?” Krepta called in a sing-songy voice. “Some food and drink, for this troubadour?”

The rhyming was a bit of a struggle– it didn’t come naturally to someone who was fairly well known for getting straight to the point at any given opportunity, but Krepta thought that she was getting better at it.

And besides, the whole thing let her get a peek into places without arousing suspicion to her true motives. Win win, right? No one got hurt, and she provided the local populace with a little entertainment for the night. So far every house here had been clear of the Corruption, thank god, but Krepta still sensed the pull of an artifact somewhere out there, and she couldn’t stop looking until she found it.

The sky above was slate grey and grumbled like an arthritic old man. It wasn't raining yet, but Krepta could tell that it was only a matter of time. At least somewhere behind those broody clouds the sun was shining. Memories and nightmares had ensured that Krepta never wanted to willingly venture into the looming tree line of that accursed swamp past nightfall again. Hell, she hadn't wanted to venture back in at all. The bitterness of the place still clung to the back of her mind like thick Louisiana mud, and she found herself watching every shadow for too many kinds of trouble.

But she had, at least, succeeded in her original task. Oken and Ivan were safe. By chance or fate, their paths had led them all to a town out in Virginia, where it turned out that strange was the new normal and they had been welcomed as family. The last she had seen of the pair they were settling in alright. Krepta made a mental note to swing by when she had another chance and check in on them. Not long after she had left to another place and time more familiar, to rest, to recover, to plan her next move. She had been gone longer than she had intended.

Of course, by the time she had returned the trail had gone cold. She regretted this fact, but there had been little choice in her hiatus. The battle with the skin-beasts had been a close shave, and she had needed time to rest from considerable injuries. The skin beasts, named for the raw skulls, animal hide, little else, animated into undead terrors. She didn't know what they were, only that they smelled like her kind, and that they could vanish and reappear at will. They were dangerous in their sheer number and their unexpected strength, and she and the Splicers had almost been overwhelmed. But the hides she recovered after were too tattered and rotten to be anything identifiable, by sight or scent. Another dead end.

So she had decided to return to the lab as a last ditch effort. It was long abandoned by now, most of the equipment gone, and no one left to question but dusty tanks and lonely ghosts. But on the bottom of one of the tanks she had found a greenish sludge, disregarded at first as mold or old grime, but upon a second, more desperate inspection, she realized that it was some kind of seaweed. Pushing her broad snout closer, she could smell distant salt air on it, the brine of rotting marine life. There was something else too. Magic.

It went up through her nasal passages like gasoline set aflame, leaving the bewildered dragon snorting and coughing for a good while even after she had vacated outside. Her fit had sent startled birds erupting from trees and a herd of deer leaping away through the tall grass like large brown grasshoppers. She had never had a reaction to any magic like that! Not that she made a habit of snorting it. Whatever it was, the stuff was potent. Whatever it was, it didn't belong.

Krepta knew what she had to do.

But she didn't have to like it.

She came back with an old jar she had scrounged up in one of the basement rooms, and tried not to think about what unpleasant things had once occupied it. Hopefully nothing, but the imagination could be cruel. Carefully, she scraped the dusty grey-green leavings into one of the jars with a bit of patience and a flat rock, avoiding inhaling too closely to the stuff, and with a deft twist of her hand on the lid, sealed it tight where it couldn't make her sneeze anymore. She slipped it into the leather pouch around her neck that also held her family's book, and then set off into the swamp.

She knew the path from the lab. She could walk it blind. How could she forget after a night like that? But it was a mostly symbolic exercise. He, she sensed, would find her all in good time, this unwelcome guest into the murky green temple of the Hermit God. She also sensed that he would not be happy to see her.

Should she have brought an offering?

The thought was mostly ironic, a tiredly sardonic suggestion from her subconscious. This creature, deity or elemental, or maybe both, was not her first in any one of those categories, nor would he be her last. And to most of them, like to him, it seemed, she was but a quickly forgotten mouse of a creature, an inconvenience. But if that was so, then she was the mouse who roared, and those who demanded piety from her would never have it. Respect was earned. Change was inevitable. She was coming whether he liked it or not.

Krepta made a noise halfway between a splutter and a cough. Her head went up and her rear went down, planting itself nearly on top of the offending foot. It hadn't hurt, but it had been unexpected, and Krepta's brain was actually still trying to catch up with what exactly 'it' had been.

Slowly, she backed out the way she came, and turned. And there was a... child? She stared at it for a while, like someone who had found a garden gnome that they hadn't remembered putting there just sitting out on their doorstep. Finally, she spoke, sounding both incredulous and annoyed.

"You know, there are easier ways to die, kid," the bemused shapeshifter rumbled.

What... what had he even been thinking? Just how did this backwards little hiccup of an adolescent picture this particular situation playing out exactly? He had just kicked a dragon in the tail. Did the screaming from further on inside the building not clue him in? Did he think that she was some kind of hallucination? Maybe he was some kind of Cape. Capes could get cocky, particularly the green ones.

Krepta squinted down at him for a while longer, then slowly lowered her snout to where he was, until they were nose to head-chomping snout, and glowered down the length of it with green eyes that burned with no small amount of annoyance.

"You have exactly thirty seconds to tell me just exactly why I shouldn't eat you and save the gene pool some upcoming trouble."

She would never, of course, but he didn't know that, and maybe a little common sense terror would do this brat some good! Alternatively, she could use the exercise.

The key clicked, and the door opened, much to Krepta’s relief, but she had to pause when it did, taking a moment to take in the candy confection of an outfit that leaned out to greet her and the woman inside it.

In some ways they weren’t too different. Both women were in possession of long brown hair, and despite Krepta’s lack of maintenance with it, she had a good headful, though her own locks were more a wild mane than the well manicured cultivation that the singer bore.

But that’s where the similarities stopped. This stranger was all canary yellows and flamingo pinks, whereas Krepta had managed to dig up her old green bomber jacket from gods only knew where. There was a new patch on the elbow, but that thing had certainly seen better days. And it was abundantly apparent that makeup was not a thing that crossed her mind on the regular, if ever. She likely didn’t see the point with all the scars.

Though, those fierce green eyes did linger a moment over the colorful shimmer of eyeshadow that highlighted the warm brown of the smaller woman’s own eyes, as if Krepta were observing some kind of exotic animal that she hadn’t quite seen before.

“Uh, thanks,” she uttered, abruptly remembering what she had come for. She pressed in past the woman, her eyes scanning the contents of the little room. “I just gotta find where he left it and I’ll be out of your hair. Heh– you know how musicians can be sometimes. He’d lose his head if it wasn’t glued to his neck, yeah?”

Plots
Plots need, well, plotting out. We'll need to brainstorm a bit before starting with these, and some have more specific requirements than others, so please be sure to read carefully.

Both original characters and canons from fandoms that fit the bill are welcome. I don't necessarily need to know the fandom to play with your character either. Krepta will likely be a visitor to their world, or vise versa-- as long as there's a wiki or something I can read, we're good.

Any Character Type

Repo Detail
[Some Danger. World Ending Artifacts. PC Conflict Possible.]
The Corruption spreads through many ways, but its favorite way of creating rifts is through cursed artifacts it sews throughout the multiverse. Each has a different purpose. Some have terrible powers, and others are meant to set off events that destabilize an area enough that a tear in space and time forms, letting the seeds of that terrible nothingness through. Many remain asleep until the right (or wrong, as it may be) individual comes along.

A Walker's job is to track down these objects, nullify them, and lock them away in one of the protected Vaults where they can no longer do any harm. Sometimes that's as easy as purchasing an unusual looking tea kettle found on an antique shop shelf. Other times Krepta has to get more creative. She's not above bargaining for things, or stealing them if she needs them. Your character has something she needs... Or perhaps they're both after the same object.

Cage Match
[Some Danger. Friendly fighting, mostly. Option to escalate after, or to segue into other plots.]
Krepta enters a fighting tournament in order to win a dangerous artifact they're using as a prize. She climbs the ranks until she gets to the last fighter-- your character. If she wins, then its a fun little fight and she can nab the artifact without issue.

If she loses, then she'll have to find a way to get it from your character instead, either by force or favor, and perhaps they'll want to know a little bit more about why she wants it so bad in the first place. Either way, it's a fun little tussle, and a good way to transition into a more long term plot if we decide we want it.

Fish on a Line
[Open Ended, Conflict Chances Low, Meet and Greet Flavor]
Krepta is on her way to your character's world, or somewhere else, and her Walking gains their attention. If they're magic users, it might be because it creates significant arcane ripples-- not dangerous, but certainly bright and noticeable. Certain technologies might also be able to detect her as a moving spatial rift. Either way, they intercept her with their own magic or technology for their own reasons.

Haphazard
[Open Ended, PC Conflict Chances Low, NPC Conflict Chances High]
This plot requires a character who may be a bit of a wildcard-- thieves, rogues, party girls-- all the types Krepta is not, since the fun is in the contrast. Krepta has hired them to help her get into some kind of social event and blend in so that she can secure an artifact that the host of the party has gotten their hands on, or perhaps information about the location of such an artifact.

It won't be easy-- Krepta's about as well socialized as a badger in a thunderstorm, and she's not exactly the type who willingly attends a lot of parties, but that's half the fun! We can take this plot in a couple of different directions, including potential failures and grand escapes involving big explosions, lol! It's also pretty versatile when it comes to setting.

Learning the Ropes
[Low Key, Slice of Life Flavors, Possible Fluff]
Krepta has taken it upon herself to work on her self defense skills outside of her shapeshifting abilities. She's aware that she's a tank and can sometimes lack finesse, and that that will get her into trouble some day.

While working through a slow spell on a mission in your character's world, she decides to use some of her free time to check out some local self defense classes. Perhaps they teach them, or they're a fellow student-- either way, it's an opportunity to get to know each other better.

Shelter
[Open Ended, Conflict Chances Low, Meet and Greet Flavor, Slight Hurt/Care Themes]
A huge storm has blown Krepta off course and she can no longer stay airborne. In the ferocity of the storm, your character's home seems like the only viable option to wait out the danger and Krepta finds her way in, shaken and disoriented.

How does your character react to the presence of this stranger, and where do they go from there? Does she arrive through the front door or sneak her way in? Is it a human woman who knocks on the door, or a fire breathing monster your character finds waiting on their porch? This plot can go in multiple directions and have multiple nuances. Expect some amount of plotting before we begin.

The night split with a sound like thunder, and it would be forgiven to think that it *had* been thunder, given the storm raging that night over the lights of Los Angeles. But the white fireball that briefly lit the churning waters of the bay was no lightning, and the creature the size of a minivan that plummeted like a comet from the black clouds above certainly was no part of any natural phenomena that had ever existed.

The wind rushed around Krepta’s ears. Below her the sea tossed and yawned with great waves like mouths, driven into a frenzy by the storm. They reached up eagerly to meet her spiraling descent, even as she tried in vain to right herself and stretch out her wings. For a moment it seemed like she would have a chance.

Like great red sails her wings snapped open, bearing her stocky form aloft in dips and judders. A savage wind caught her and sent her tumbling end over end, even as Krepta clawed the air with all four feet, her tail thrashing desperately. Still, through the hard haze of rain, a gray line appeared on the horizon, which quickly solidified into docks, and ships, and concrete. The dragoness strained, gasping with the effort of it all, and tried to put her hind feet under her and her wings behind her. She was going to make it, but she needed to slow down, to break–

KKRRCKK–!

It hit out of nowhere, a searing light, a blinding pain. Like fire the lightning lanced up through her nerves and sent sparks dancing in her eyes, but only for a moment before darkness rose up to claim her.

The dragon’s body hit the docks hard, shattering the wood into shards and splinters. A terrified maintenance man who had been filming the scene on his phone with trembling fingers turned and fled from his station at the explosive sound, scrambling down a rusty iron ladder and across the slick concrete of the shipping yard.

Whether it was to run for his life or to go get help, Krepta would never know. The dragon’s form shrank, withering away into a limp, pale form in the dark water, drifting in and out with the waves. Pierced with shards of wreckage and at the mercy of the bay, she was lucky to have fate’s kindness in her corner once more, as the tide bore her along the underbelly of the docks, rising and falling until it eventually deposited her ashore in the deep shadows in the sand beneath a half forgotten pier.

From there, it was in another’s hands.

Elementals/Nature Spirits/Myths

In All The Wood
[Any Era or World Applicable. Open Ended. Themes of Magic and Myth. Conflict Very Likely. Semi-Meet and Greet.]
Got an elemental, a local god, or a nature spirit? Wanna see Krepta climb a tree real fast?

Walkers are kind of an anomaly in the multiverse. In order to travel freely among the worlds, they no longer have a connection to the native universe they were born into. They make temporary connections with new worlds when they visit, and then break free again when they leave. The ripples they leave behind in the fabric of those universes are harmless, but as a result, elementals and other beings deeply tied to the natural world tend to react to Walkers like white blood cells to an invading virus (though in reality they're more like harmless pollen). They are drawn to the presence of Walkers, and their 'wrongness', and tend to deal with them in their own ways.

Those ways are not always violent, but they are often enough that Krepta is already wary of this sort. Plus, she thinks Elementals are creepy. She'd rather try and run away than fight, but she's perfectly capable of holding her own if cornered. But perhaps once the dust settles, they'll find themselves unexpected allies.

Vampires & Blood Drinkers

Blood of Summer
[Open Ended, Conflict Chances Dependent]
Krepta's got an unwitting connection to an ancient, otherworldly vampire god (close enough anyway). In the old world, from Greece, to Persia, to Egypt, he offered up his blood to create for himself a hidden empire of the turned and the converted, allowing those who partook in his sacrifice to walk once more beneath the sun in exchange for their services. Most of the acolytes of the Serpent King are dead now, taken in the wars between ancient Egypt and Rome, but a few still slumber here and there, or move through the modern world unseen.

The part of Krepta that is the dragon comes from this god, a sacrifice he made long ago, along with his four other elemental brethren to bring forth the herald beasts of the Walkers. His power sings in her, and sings in her blood, and it will call to his forgotten acolytes most strongly. Other vampires can likely sense it too, though it's doubtful they understand the pull.

Krepta isn't a big fan of vampires-- for many reasons, but she's probably never paused to consider why she keeps running into so many. Perhaps one will finally shed some light on the matter, and get more than they bargained for in the process.

OOC Note: The vampire in question does not have to be one of Ven's, or to know Ven. Regular vampires (or any blood-drinker, technically), will feel a similar pull, though not as strongly. This is meant to be a 'find out what the hell is going on together' sort of story.

Red Sun Rising
[Open Ended, PC Conflict Chances Dependent, NPC Conflict Chances High]
Your character has committed one crime or another and is paying a terrible price for it-- perhaps a bit of public torment, being staked out for the sun, the usual run of the mill horrors that irate vampires visit upon one another. But Krepta happens to be passing nearby and hears the screams.

Not one to let any creature suffer, even a stranger, she rather messily and loudly crashes the party, scattering bewildered vampires in her wake and making off with their victim.

Now she has some fairly irate bloodsuckers to deal with, and another she must nurse back to life. But what then? Is your character an innocent, or did they deserve their punishment? And what now that they've been given a miraculous second chance?

A Terrible Boon
[Open Ended, Conflict Chances Dependent]
Beyond allowing nocturnal vampires to walk in the sun, Krepta's blood gives a considerable, if temporary power boost to those who drink it, vampire or not, though the effects are more pronounced with vampires. Any natural gifts they might have are increased, and the amount and duration which this boost lasts grows with each further 'dose'. However, there are side effects too. Partake of the Dragon's blood for too long, and you will become like the dragon itself, and eventually this begins to present both physically and mentally.

Your character has demanded Krepta's blood in return for one of the artifacts she seeks, or something else useful to her. She agrees, reluctantly, but allows it because it allows her to gather what she needs without conflict. She has warned your character that doing this for too long will have consequences for them. Now they must navigate those inevitable consequences, and whatever that means for your character. They can stop drinking the blood and eventually they will return to normal, but with that loss also comes the loss of the power they have gained, and no doubt there are powers in the wings waiting for exactly that moment.

OOC: Technically the same applies to anyone who repeatedly consumes the blood of the Dragon, but vampires make the most sense, lol.

Exit Wounds
[Open Ended, Conflict Chances Dependent, Some Light Lore Reading, Possible Future Connection with Ven if Wanted]
Something terrible has happened. Ven has turned your character in a last ditch effort to save them, and was wounded in the process. He is hibernating to recover, and though he stirs weakly from time to time, he will likely be out for quite some time.

Unfortunately, your character will reawaken as a vampire far sooner than that, and Krepta is the only one left standing to tend to the matter. She could abandon both sire and fledgling, but she doesn’t dislike Ven quite enough for that, and she doesn’t trust this newly created vampire not to cause trouble without someone there to deal with things.

The trouble remains, how do you coach a new baby vampire without being one yourself? And without getting eaten in the process? Worse, Ven is no ordinary vampire, and his progeny, by extension, promises to be no ordinary fledge.

I Was Queen of Thieves
[PC Conflict Likely, NPC Conflict, Spy Flavors, Pulp Flavors, Noir Flavors, Can be Modern or 1920s-1950s.]
Krepta must infiltrate the city's crime ring and rise to the top in order to procure a particularly dangerous artifact. It's a delicate operation, but surprisingly she's had some experience here and is fairly successful. Maybe more successful than she intended.

A delicate situation becomes even more so when she comes across a local hero looking to take down the 'Queen of Thieves'. Can Krepta keep her cover and hold them off at the same time? Will they wind up working together, or will it all go pear shaped?

Bodyguard
[Eventual PC conflict likely, but plenty of hi-jinks available while Krepta tries to lose them until then!]
Krepta is in a bit of a pickle. A Corrupted Artifact is in the possession of the royal family of a foreign nation visiting the city she's found herself in. With the amount of security surrounding them, there's no way she has the skills to get close enough to nab it. However, she does see an unexpected in.

One of the daughters of the family is reckless, always giving her security detail the slip in order to go off and explore the town. Krepta swoops in on her and tucks her away somewhere safe until she can complete her goals, intending to use an image inducer to disguise herself and take the woman's place.

Unfortunately, the plan doesn't go off entirely without a hitch. One of the bodyguards catches her in the act and Krepta is shot in the process. She manages to knock him out and secure him as well, but she's forced to play it off like the bodyguard attacked her and then ran off into the night.

The royal family loses their collective minds as a result and demands better security from their host nation. In order to smooth things over, a few strings are pulled in the local hero community, and Krepta's new bodyguard is a lot more than she bargained for.

This is going to make her job a lot harder.

Monster of the Week & Artifacts

Ghosts in the Static
[High Danger. B-Movie Monsters, Ghosts, Horror Tropes. Conflict with NPC.]
One of the artifacts that Krepta must retrieve is a possessed VHS tape in an old abandoned video store. The tape has the terrible ability to bring movie characters to life, and it's fond of horror.

But the entity in this tape is sentient, and clever enough to use its powers in horribly subtle ways as well as for larger swaths of destruction. Your character gets caught in between or otherwise Krepta needs their help to secure the tape before it can do any more damage.

Moth & Flame
[High Danger. Death/Arson tw. Conflict with NPC. Potential conflict with Krepta if sought out. Murder mystery.]
Beautiful and shimmering, the Mothsong Cloak can make anyone shine, and like so many stories, there are too many who would pay any price for the status and beauty it offers.

But the Mothsong must be fed, and to be fed, it must sup on the ash of those whose talents the wearer wishes to possess. When a string of small time musicians goes missing, your character finds reason to investigate, but Krepta is already on the scene. Do they work together, or is she suspect?

Twilight's Touch
[Slow burn danger. Themes of widespread infection and disease. Probable NPC death.]
Twilight's Touch is an insidious artifact. Its origin point lies within a crystalized specimen of Cicadoidea, its amethyst encrusted wings outspread as though in flight. It's a beautiful and sinister object, as infection spreads through large living things much slower than smaller ones, and so an unwitting victim who gets their hands on it may use it to crystalize small plants or insects for aesthetic purposes, not knowing that they too have been infected, and that the crystallization is transmissible.

Only when this lovely death is widely spread throughout a population does it tend to become truly known, and by then it is often too late. A cure is possible if a victim soaks for several hours in a solution with several drops of Walker's blood, as long as the infection has not yet spread to the organs. Past this point, it is terminal.

Only Walkers can handle the Twilight's Touch bare handed, but a layperson may also do so safely with a layer of raw silk between themselves and the artifact.

The Dreaming Jewel
[Danger Levels Vary. Themes of facing personal demons and desires. Lotus Eater tropes. Dream Logic.]
One of the most dangerous artifacts, rumor has it that the Dreaming Jewel is a small, corrupted piece of a god from a universe at the edge of time, where the border between dreams and reality is still malleable. It has the ability to bring a holder’s dreams to life… and nightmares.

Luck Thief
[Everything about this plot is highly customizable. We can make it deadly or silly.]
There's an up and coming high roller in town, an ex-goon somehow rising like a meteor through levels of power and money alike. Nobody's happy about this. Not only is this nobody deftly unseating crime families who have been in charge for years, this once bumbling henchmen has gained a taste for blood, and the local heroes have had little luck in quelling his reign of terror. Everyone wants this guy dead, but everything seems to slide off of him, from bullets to legal charges.

Krepta knows why, and she's come to knock him off his pedestal. The amulet this menace wears steals luck from everyone around him. She's come armed with several 'lucky charms' to feed it while she works on getting it off him, but she's going to need help getting close enough to do so.

The Jade Lion
[Danger Levels Vary. We can play this seriously or more goofy, with the dog turning or just being a big accidental menace.]
The jade lion is designed to make any war beast an indestructible machine of death. The more the afflicted beast eats, the more powerful it grows--- smarter, stronger, faster, more deadly. Anything thrown at it is absorbed, and the beast's body adapts. What happens though, when some unsuspecting soul affixes the Jade Lion talisman to the collar of their household dog?

The White Serpent
[High Danger likely. Love vs Possession. Potential Player Character Conflict. Potential (messy) NPC death.]
Forever kept from her love by a monk’s cruel ambitions, the White Serpent casts a spell around the bearer that some might mistake for love, but instead is a deadly sort of infatuation, causing its victims to waste away at the feet of their adored subject, refusing to drink or eat or even sleep. Eventually the bespelled become so obsessed that they desire to take their love into themselves forever… Which usually results in some fairly messy cannibalism.

The spell can be broken if the victim is moved far enough from the jar’s bearer, but it takes some time and recovery. It can be resisted by those who have strong wills and stable, existing love, be it platonic or romantic.

The artifact is a red eyed serpent coiled within an ornate silver and glass jar, seemingly dead or asleep. It does not tend to respond to outside communication, though telepaths may sense a vast mind behind it. The jar does not seem to be able to be broken by normal means.

Agents of the Multiverse
I'm always looking for characters to play fellow agents and do some long term plotting, whether you decide to join up with our group roleplay or just stick to one on ones. There's some handy dandy missions in the drop down below. Alternatively, maybe your character is a bystander who gets caught up in the middle!

The Midnight Hour
[Post Apocalyptic, Survival, Potential Angst, NPC Deaths Likely, Lots of Danger]
This is it-- the end. The shadows have passed across the world, turning all to dust and death. Loved ones are no longer recognizable. Pockets of civilization shrink every day. Communications go silent without warning.

Your character is a lone survivor, or perhaps part of a group of survivors, doing their best to make it through the last of days. Perhaps the apocalypse has only just begun, or maybe it's been months of hardscrabble living. What will they do when a stranger arrives and gives them a way to fight back?

Murder on the Galaxy Express
[Science Fiction Flavored. High danger & Conflict with NPCs. Murder Mystery. Fast Paced.]
The Galaxy Express is a high class, intergalactic passenger ship. Designed to look like the old steam trains of Earth’s past, it is an opulent way to travel between galaxies for certain.

The team dispatched to the train was meant to stop someone with a dangerous, corrupt artifact, only, before they could locate that individual, they used that artifact to murder someone. That murder was enough fuel to allow the artifact to tear open not just one Rift, but many.

Now the race is on to figure out who the murderer is while the Galaxy Express careens through time and space, passing through reality distortions, other universes, and who knows what else in the meantime.

Only Dust Remains
[Post Apocalyptic, Survival, Slow Burn, a mix of danger and reclamation]
The AotM have managed to develop beacons to keep the Corruption at bay. Nothing can venture within the bounds of them, which means that, at least for anything in the safe zone, resettlement and renewal can begin. But first the beacons have to be placed, which means the area chosen must be cleared out of threats and shelters must be built. Resources must be introduced and carefully tended, all the while while death stalks the borders of this fragile sanctuary. Our team has been selected to be first boots on the ground.

This plot is neat because we can utilize literally any world and give it a post apocalyptic spin. Middle Earth? Gotham City? Coruscant? What would they look like as dead worlds? And how would we bring them slowly back to life, if just a tiny piece? Or we can come up with a setting of our own and really get creative!

Character Development
These plots are all intended for long term development of this character. Some are deeper, more emotional things, while others are just skill building goals. Skills are usually lighter hearted, but the emotional stuff isn’t for everyone, so please select these plots understanding that I play things like trauma responses realistically. If angst ain’t your bit, choose a chiller plot.

Skill Building

Diplomacy
[*Potential for high emotions in this plot.]
Krepta is a good soul. She’s honest and compassionate with others, but sometimes that honesty goes a little too far. She’s also got a hot temper. Paired together, she’s not always the best in situations that require a careful touch. Coaxing a scared kid out or talking down someone in an emotional bind she’s good at, but in moments where she has to deal with more difficult personalities putting pressure on her– boom, she goes off like a powder keg.

She could use some practice getting that temper under control, as well as picking up some negotiation skills. This promises to be a slightly more difficult skill for her to master though, so anyone looking to have their characters teach it should be aware that there’s some trauma wrapped up in all that anger.

Hand to Hand Combat/Weaponry
Krepta is a wrecking ball when it comes to her dragon form. She’s fierce and determined, fighting like a mad marriage between a pitbull and a lioness. She’s picked up a little strategy and finesse over the years, but largely she’s just all fire and force. When it comes to combat outside of her dragon form, she struggles some. She’s got a little hand to hand training skill, but anyone with actual training could still wipe the floor with her.

Open to any kind of hand to hand training, including weapons training! Dealer’s choice! Krepta loves sparring, so she's likely to be in a good mood for this.

Driving
Krepta was torn from her home universe before she ever really learned to drive, and the skill just kind of… fell by the wayside. Who needs wheels when you have wings? She usually just hoofs it everywhere.

Pity the poor fool who puts her behind a wheel, lol!

Learning to ride an animal, such as a horse, would be equally as entertaining. Most prey animals are skittish when they get a whiff of her, and as a result, she’s a little wary of them too.

Stealth/Subterfuge
Krepta has a little more experience with this one. She’s actually pretty sneaky running around as the dragon when she wants to be. She’s had to learn to be for hunting purposes in order to feed herself, after all. But the finer points that might be applied to say, spy work? That she could use some brushing up on. She’s also a terrible liar and a worse actor, but the contrast is what makes this challenge fun!

Personal Development

Lean on Me
Krepta spent most of her life taking care of herself alone, from a fairly young age. She’s had to be independent in order to survive, and moreso, she’s had to take care of everyone else around her too. As a result she has trouble not doing this, even when the option to ask for help is there. She has a toxic trait of stubbornly shouldering every burden that comes her way alone until she collapses.

She’s gotten a little better now that she’s working shoulder to shoulder with other people more regularly, but it’s still a work in progress. She needs friends that will help her loosen up and learn to have some fun, and maybe help this feral warhorse of a woman better integrate into community again. This would be a great opportunity for some down to earth, slice of life stuff, but expect her to be a little stubborn about it.

Scare Me by Ludo
[Halloween/Horror Tropes. Vampires, Ghosts, Monsters. Conflict with PC. Pretty Open.]
A tomb rots in a forgotten cemetery, rising from the cold mist where moss drapes the worn faces of statues like funeral shrouds. Or a castle perches like a watchful beast against the sickle of a huge, red crescent moon. Perhaps an old house waits at the end of a dirt road that winds through the woods, the only shelter for miles as a storm gathers on the horizon. Give me howling winds and creaking floorboards. Give eyes that watch in the dark and cold fingers that creep up spines within empty hallways.

Be the monster in my labyrinth.

It should be noted that scare here does not mean murder, lol. I have no desire for my character to be permanently harmed or killed. Rattled, absolutely, but I’d rather not add to her therapy bill long term. Let’s not do anything she can’t recover from.

I love me some creepies and cryptids, ghosts and vampires. I’m cool with more benign spooks who may just be having some fun, or hungry things that may not be pleased with having an unexpected intruder in their space (or maybe they’re a little too pleased). Either end of the spectrum is fine by me, but I draw the line at gross and gorn.

There are plenty of reasons for Krepta to be in that space. Maybe a storm drove her in, or she’s looking to nab an artifact either in your character’s home/lair or directly within their possession. Perhaps that very artifact is preventing her from using her usual assortment of powers (or not, if you want to rumble with a dragon, lol).

I’m down for whatever! Just bring me the Hallows and the Hell they raise…!

An open scene where either Krepta has tracked down your character for some reason, or they've tracked her down. Maybe they're caught by surprise and cornered, or maybe one sought the other out for help. Either way, appearances can be deceiving.

“I guess we’ll be working together for now.”
Strangers, or perhaps natural enemies, forced to cooperate on the same side. Will the alliance last?

“Shit. How many fingers am I holding up?”
Krepta makes a poor physician and an even worse patient. Good luck, either way.

“Are you my contact, then?”
Krepta's not used to working with others-- it's a steep learning curve, and she's about as subtle as a sledgehammer. Which means, of course, intelligence gathering or stealth missions would be hilarious.

“I’m sorry, repeat yourself. You want me to do what, exactly?”
Lol, go nuts. This could literally be anything. Watch out for flying chairs, though.

“Aw, it’s not such a far drop. We’ll be fine. Alley-oop!”
Your character gets sucked into trouble through the sheer misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“One favor. That was our deal. You kept up your end of the bargain, so I’ll honor mine.”
A trade for an artifact she needed, maybe, or supplies, or access to a place she wasn't meant to go. What will your character ask for in return?

“You keep runnin’ your mouth, pal, but it’s your feet that had better start movin.”

Your character follows Krepta through one of the Doorways and gets stuck with her on an unknown world. Hope they like camping.

“Wait, wait, wait-- easy! Look... the storm blew me in. I just need to rest. I promise I'm not gunna eatcha.”
A terrible storm grounds Krepta near your character's home, and she seeks shelter inside. What will they do?

“You... HURRRR... need to get away. I'm not sure I can control myself...”
Make sure your character can handle themselves well for this one. The dragon doesn't like to play nice.

“Oh crap... it's a kid...”
Our characters have to get from point A to point B with a small child in tow, without killing each other, or losing said child.

“I'm fine... I'm used to this. Just let me patch myself up in peace, okay?”
How dare you perceive her in a state in which she is not whole, healthy, and hale! D8<

Starters
These are special prompts that we can use as a jumping off point directly, or, if you'd like, you can simply send me a reply (RPR or Discord work best). This kind of speed dating roleplay is kind of a gamble, and I reserve the right to not reply or turn you down if I'm not feeling it, but it can be fun just to throw characters together out of the blue without having to worry about the lead up sometimes.

We can improv or chat about the plot as we go. If I do turn you down, just know that it's not personal-- but it's still a possibility that I may. It's best to view this as a fun writing exercise, or to use a starter that you can reuse somewhere else if it doesn't work out.
