  Born in upper Wales, Alex grew up in the early 20th century as a poor street kid. He was alone most of his life and took odd jobs here and there, finally finding himself employed as an assassin. However, when he was hired to kill someone, plans went awry when that person revealed themselves to be a witch. He was killed then, in his thirties, and his spirit was cursed to stay on Earth.
  His spirit wandered for years until he learned he could possess people. After a while of doing that, he realized he needed a more permanent solution to his problem, so he set out in search of someone to be a permanent home for his spirit. Without volunteers, he went to the morgue and found his current host body, freshly dead. Taking the opportunity, he took over the body and ran out of the establishment, leaving the country as soon as he could so others wouldn't recognize him. He made his way to America, and there, he met his to-be wife, April.
