Exalt

There have been 19 Exalt variants since the Genesis, starting with the last Exalt that had an intact memory. As the memory wards were put up to hide information from the Pravda, this variant went nameless for a time. Miscommunication between himself and alien race, as well as some subconscious memory, led him to name himself Exalt once again. Each variant after this has used the same name, seemingly vying for dominance amongst themselves. No one would know how true this was until the Ascended Exalt came along, but even then, he keeps his personal life mostly secret save from very few confidants.

The Exalt Genesis Pravda was titled 'The Defiant', with each other Exalt taking on a similar moniker. The 19th variant is that which entered the Ascension Trials and became the Ascended Exalt.

This Pravda has spent the entirety of the Genesis at war with itself, mostly at the direction of Ascended Exalt, craftily pulling strings to line his own history up in such a way to lead him to specific outcomes. From the outside, Pravda assumed that they were purposefully keeping Exalt variants young to avoid danger to themselves; however, this was entirely constructed by the Ascended trashing his 'failed' variants. Occasionally, a particularly clever variant would come along that challenged the Ascended. This very situation led to the Great Time Siege of the Pravda, a war that spanned 3 millenia via time travel. Most Pravda simply know that an Exalt variant started the siege by murdering one of himself as part of a scheme to take over his time, then, the tenth Exalt killed the offended Exalt. Why has always been a mystery.

The Exalts involved in this mess were both put down by Ascended Exalt after completion of his Death Trials. It was a long and convoluted task carried out throughout time and with minimal aid from the Ascended Chief Alpha, Legend, whom Ascended Exalt had made a pact with, ensuring his rise to Pravda Alpha.
