• Biography

  Manon Helena Vylcerys was taught to deceive and keep secrets at a young age. The daughter of an elven mother and human father, she was raised in a human world, her mother disappearing after her birth. To keep her race a secret, Manon's father convinced the young girl that she would be in immediate danger if the people of their small trader's town were to find out her true nature. She lived her life under house arrest that was cleverly disguised as a safe house, being pulled out of society once she hit puberty - when another secret came to light. Manon comes from a lineage of sorcerers, her father and aunt both possessing the power as well. This discovery led to a more strict seclusion from the town by her father who believed his abilities to be a curse, only teaching Manon how to keep her own abilities subdued.
  
  Manon's aunt Lorelei was the only person she could talk to openly. Lorelei being sister to Manon's father, she understood how overbearing he could be and she tried her best to give Manon the freedom she knew the young girl needed. Even though her mother was gone her Aunt Lorelei thought it was important for Manon to know where she came from so she began collecting books on Elven lore and history, which Manon took to immediately. With the aid of her aunt, Manon learned Elvish and Draconic as well as about the Elven deity Corellon Larethian and Boccob, the God of Magic. Lorelei also took it upon herself to guide the young half-elf in learning more about her in-born arcane magic. Because of her aunt's teachings Manon learned much about the world she was kept from.
  
  Upon reaching the age of twenty-two Manon decided to stop playing by her father's rules. She knew by now that what fears she was taught to have as a little girl were only falsehoods made up by her father to keep her within his grasp. When she realized what her father had been doing all along, she was young, and too afraid to leave home. So Manon continued to repress who she wanted to be while keeping who she already was a secret. But it had taken its toll, the fear of leaving home now gone and replaced with the urgency to leave. Deciding to not let her father have control over her life anymore, Manon packed what she could and with a cold goodbye she left the only world she had known behind. Intent on finding her mother and learning the truth her father kept from her, Manon began a journey she was ill equipped to handle.
  
  After only a few months on the road Manon had grown harder, her talent of lying and deception came easy when she began to steal to survive. A thief down on her luck after most of her supplies were nabbed by bandits, she was now without coin and turned to the only thing that would bring her the resources she needed to continue her journey to find her mother.
