Abilities/Weaknesses
(subject to change)- Familiar - A companion through attachment or contract to one person of magical aptitude where the companion is able to be used as a conduit to draw greater power from whichever they gather. (Ether, element, leylines, etc.) The strength of the mage/wizard/etc can exponentially increase the power they have over Mersy. She can bond with a normal human, thought the effects of her power are greatly reduced. The person might find themselves with heightened senses or greater strength. She also has the ability to "share" her body with her "master" in that she can absorb a percentage any injuries or infliction sustained by said individual. A fatal blow might not be fatal if the burden is shared. This also means that if she bonds with a human they might have the ability to live longer than a normal person might. (By sharing their physical burdens she can lengthen their life span at the cost of shortening hers.) She can also allow her master to see through her eyes, giving them the ability to see things from a different vantage point.
- She has the ability to shift into a large black cat, with bright gold eyes. She can also take on different attributes of her cat form whilst in human form (i.e. Tail, cat ears, and so on.)
- Whilst in her cat form she has the ability to project her thoughts to those around her. The voice is her own, but softer, as if heard through a haze. She can only project to those around her as if speaking out loud. The softer she projects, the closer one has to be to hear it.
- Her senses are enhanced, allowing her to see better in low light situations and pick up scents a human's nose couldn't detect.
- Nine Lives. She can take a fatal hit, and after dying all fatal injuries will heal, causing her to wake up from her "sleep" and live on.
- Mersy is, for all intents and purposes, immortal until she is on the last of her nine lives, wherein she will continue to age as a normal human.
- She is remarkably flexible and light on her feet, allowing her to move quickly and quietly with ease. This also means she can fall from great heights and land on her feet with little to no injury. (Depending upon the height, of course.)
- While she doesn't have "super strength" she is quite a bit stronger than an average human her size, and her pain tolerance is extremely high. This means she can ignore her injuries should she need to flee or fight.
- She can't swim. Large bodies of water, or rapidly flowing water terrify her.
- She is very easily distracted by movement. This means her attention span is usually very short...
- The outfit she runs around in at night is enchanted, it's her only set of clothing that she can shift into a cat and back again without having to dress and undress.
