Hexus

You see a 5'5 creature that, at first glance, appears to be a young woman. However, on closer inspection one would clearly note her scaled extremities. The woman's arms and legs both began as pale, human flesh but ended in leathery scales of purple so dark they appeared black where the light did not directly strike them. A crown of dark violet horns protruded from impossibly black hair, both framing the pallid face of the woman. The facial features of this creature were distinctly human with angular feature and what appeared to be dark eye shadow to make her amethyst eyes more apparent through the mess of bangs that threatened to obscure them from time to time. A large, wide-brimmed steeple hat topped her head, further casting the features of her face into gloom. The woman was clad in a black leather outfit that kept her scaled extremities visible and was adorned with what appeared to be raven feathers.

Hexus is a particularly old and jaded Carmine Dragon who had become particularly calloused towards the living she was ostensibly supposed to be serving by preserving the balance of life and death. The dragon fancied herself a god in her own right and often required bribes or tributes to do what she was expected to do as part of her eternal duty. When Hexus did perform her duties it was often destructive to all parties involved, creating unnecessary loss of life and damaging the grand schedule of The Lady of the Graves.

While many calamities can interrupt the grand schedule, the Carmine Dragons were something she alone could bring to heel and influence. The Lady confronted Hexus about her derelection of her duty to the natural order. In response, Hexus attempted to use her silver tongue to try and explain that she was helping The Lady by creating more areas in which Carmine Dragons could be bred to further help in preserving the balance.

Despite the compelling arguement, the grand schedule had been damaged and the explaination from Hexus only came across as an excuse. In response, The Lady stripped Hexus of her ancient draconic form and reducing her to a mortal form so that she could live amongst those she had treated so poorly. What's more, The Lady sealed off her powers from Hexus telling her that The Lady's favor must be earned back.

Finally, for her treacherous tongue, The Lady made it so that if Hexus were to speak above a whisper she would not only drain her own energy, but make those around her ill. This was done by tying Hexus' ability to speak with her entropic breath weapon. While, a casual speaking tone might only make people sick, a yell began to properly weaponize her breath. This was to force Hexus to listen to those around her while running the risk of alienating herself in her much more vulnerable form by speaking over others.
