    Below are the various non-reproductive physical traits common to all Austanians that are unique to these people. These trademarks can be seen as distinct from a distance and even more so at closer distances. On top of physical distinction from other races, these attributes provide some amount of combat or other prowess in their world and society.
    • Austanians are known are large upper and lower canines, which are generally carefully hidden in their mouth and discouraged from showing. These specialized teeth are often used for displays of aggression and are readily employed in fights by males. However, the use of them in combat is seen as "loss-of-control" by some members of their society. Showing these canines in terms of aggression and displeasure is not as egregious as using them and considered acceptable.
    • Eye colors are unique from other races with no color being limited from the possible spectrum, however, some are rarer and lineage-bound than others. Red eyes are considered to be linked to the royal lineage and come directly from their creation god, while emerald green comes from a specific lineage of noble warriors, and colors like golden amber are considered uncommon or rare.
    • Speaking of eyes, Austanians have keen eyesight and better night vision than most other humanoid races, to achieve this the corneas allow more light in through the pupil in dark settings, dilating them widely. Due to this, they exhibit a trait of reflection from the back of their eyes, like various animals, when in the dark.
    • All other senses are increased as well, smelling is probably their best sense after sight, being able to pick up on distinct pheromones and distant scents. It's strong enough that communication of an individual's health and other statuses can be determined by scent alone. It is also used to hunt various fauna at times as well and is seen as a way for Austanians to be more intuned with their "untamed" nature.
    • The last and more jarring trait is their size, being inordinately tall without sacrificing warrior-like physiques. Both males and females have above-average musculature when compared to other humanoid races, but males have this to a higher extent due to their tendency to combat.
