Samaira was born Khandwa, India in 2016. She was the youngest of three children, and her father left them all behind shortly after Samairas birth. Her mother, in need of supporting three young children, took up a job in construction - building stone houses in the small village where Samaira and her family lived. This was a hard job, as Samairas bother would everyday go to collect rocks on the hills, and bring them back to the village. As Samaira grew older, her mother became weaker and weaker from the job, and even though Samaira was merely a two year old girl, she could see the change in her mother. The once smiling woman, whose smile could light up the entire village, would hardly reach her eyes and even when it did you could see the sickness, the tiredness and most of all the sadness. The mother was dying, and she knew that it was only a matter of time before she left this world and her children whom she loved more than anything. Samaira was three when her mother passed away, and she was along with her siblings moved from their beloved home and put into one of the infamous indian orphanages. They would sleep on beds piled up in large rooms - more than 75 children sleeping side by side, sweating and hurting and crying. Samairas older brother Sher, would take care of her and do the best that he could at the age of eleven. Luckily for the three of them, Samaira was never a loud crying child, she would silently sit in her siblings arms or on the bed, and not say a word. And then every now and then she would cry out for her mother, and the orphanage workers would tell her to be quiet. But the orphanage was a horrible place, and every now and then the guards would pull kids out of the sleeping rooms, and you could hear them screaming down the hall, and the next day they would be back in the room and silently sitting on their beds with an empty look in their eyes. You didn't know what was going on in the other rooms, but you could see it as a reflection in their eyes. Samaira was at the orphanage until she was six, and within those years she had lost both of her siblings. Her brother, whom they decided was too old for the orphanage was sent to live on the streets. Her older sister, was adopted.

She was alone. And you could feel and see it, because she became a quiet girl who never spoke. She would sit in the corner of the room on her bed, and throw a tiny ball into the room over and over again. When playtime in the yards came around, she wouldn't come out and she would just sit there. That was until a woman from the local authorities came and said a family was interested in adopting her. She took the woman by the hand, and they went into town where they at the mayors office, was greeted in the office by two men and a small boy around the same age as her. Their faces lit up when they saw the little girl, and Samaira tightened her grip around the woman's hand. She guided Samaira into the room, and she was seated on the table in front of the family. 'What's your name?' did the darker haired man ask her, soon adding 'I'm Matthew'. The Woman translated into hindi for Samaira, and Samaira was quiet for a while, before the woman in english started to explain. 'She is a quiet girl, she doesn't talk much'.The guys started talking with the woman, about the adoption (which Samaira didn't know at the time) and while they were talking, the little boy in the blonde haired mans lap reached out and pointed to Samairas ball. At first she didn't do anything, but then she threw the ball across the room, and the boy jumped from his fathers lap and ran to get it. Within ten minutes the two were playing and throwing the ball across the room, filling the room with laughter and smiles.

And no more that two weeks later, Samaira was on a plane heading to America. At first she found it strange, entering the skyscraper city that was Gotham City. All around her were glass buildings, more than six times bigger than the buildings she was used to. On the streets there were lights and cars and yelling people. But the apartment was even stranger, large rooms with only limited furnitures unlike what she had grown used to at the orphanage. For the longest time she would sit quiet on the edge of the furnitures almost scared to do anything wrong, or mess up the place. But slowly, but surely, she started to open up and even imitate the language of them. She would start to repeat what they say, and by the age of 12 she was fully capable of the english sentence. It was around this age that Samaira also started developing her before unknown meta-human abilities. It took a while for them to figure it out, as her powers were very mental. But when they started realizing that all bad emotions and thoughts went away when she touched them, they knew that their girl was a meta-human. Luckily, her father, Ilya was a meta-human doctor and it was a rather easy talk to have with her. Samaira was never one to struggle with her abilities either, as it didn't feel like an obstacle. She touched others, and she could see them getting better. There was nothing more to it.

As she started high school, Samaira began to lay behind her nervous tendencies and blossomed into the independent woman she is today. Within a year, the fifteen year old had managed to become president of several clubs including the Debate Club, Creative Writing Club, Religion Club and member of several others. By the age of sixteen she was class president, and by seventeen she had managed to score the spot of school body president. There was no stopping her, and by the time she graduated she was the valedictorian making her dads proud by speaking at her graduation, in front of the entire school. After High School ended she went on to study religion on Harvard University. You wouldn't have thought that the sad indian girl who lost everything, and stared quietly into the wall, would have come this far - but she did. But no matter what has happened and how happy and content she is with her life, she can't help but have the need to find her siblings. She still see their faces in her mind, and she can't help but thinking if they feel the same. If they ever looked for their little sister.
