Piper

Feeding - Piper feeds on both Life Essences and Blood while the victim is sleeping, though she does not need the latter, she's developed the taste for it. While many of her kind attack children only, Piper prefers adult victims. Her feeding induces an illness into the victim, who will eventually succumb to any number of autoimmune disorders. Though they can be cured should she wish it, by spitting into their mouth. She can be killed during feeding by consecrated iron bullets. This is the only time bullets will have any effect.

Transformation - Piper is able to transform at will into an Elephant Hawk-Moth Unfortunately this leaves her constantly scatterbrained and intensely attracted to lights and flame, even when not transformed.

Evil Eye - Just looking into her eyes, when she is without her contacts, is said to make most mortals severely uncomfortable, even if she is not giving them the dark look. The true curse of the evil eye is said to summon misfortune or injury to those it is cast at. There are many culturally different talismans that can protect against Evil Eye called Apotropaic talismans as a whole.

Weaknesses - Holy candles, Holy Water, Salt, Pig Bone's fashioned into a cross

Warding - If one believes they are being stalked by a Shtriga there are ways to ward her away. They include:

1. Taking a pinch of salt in their fingers and touch their (closed) eyes, mouth, heart and the opposite part of the heart and the pit of the stomach and then throw the salt in direct flames saying "syt i dalçin syt i plaçin" or just whisper 3–6 times "syt i dalçin syt i plaçin" or "plast syri keq."

2. A cross made of pig bone could be placed at the entrance of a church on Easter Sunday, rendering any shtriga inside unable to leave. They could then be captured and killed at the threshold as they vainly attempted to pass.

3. After draining blood from a victim, the shtriga will generally go off into the woods and regurgitate it. If a silver coin were to be soaked in that blood and wrapped in cloth, it will become an amulet offering permanent protection from any shtriga.
