She works out entirely too much, in fact that's like 80% of her leisure time. If she's not running, she's lifting. Fortunately, this is where you see her cheek really shine through. -

Hsiung x Montefeltro.
The Montefeltros got their start during the industrial revolution, based in Milan. They still have their hands in banking, although Li Ling has no part of it.
The Hsiungs are less heralded overall, but known primarily for their technique in silk weaving, and the quality of the product over the centuries-- they have a longer legacy than the Montefeltros that can be traced back to the Han dynasty, however they lack the world appeal that the Montefeltros developed.

Samson -
Sammy is the newest addition to Li Ling's apartment. He's a high energy and bright addition to the otherwise grey atmosphere and brightens her day considerably, although she'll never admit to it. Unsurprisingly he's AKC, with his papers (what's the point of all that money if she can't spend it?)
Samson can often be found trundling along at her ankles when she goes for her morning runs. He's fondly referred to by her as Valentino as he likes to posture and bluster with other dogs-- the great protector that he is.
Alda -
Alda looks spritely for her age and her name is very aptly given. She's a regal creature and mirrors her owner in her very particular tastes and dislike of most new players. She has the full run of Li Ling's apartment and while she tolerates the newly introduced Samson, she's quick to remind him who his elder is.
What's Amiss?Alda is over 50 years old. She is an ancient feline. No one would really know she's anything other than a normal cat, but those with a sense for magic (witches, particularly) would likely sense something off about her. A gift to Cat and Li Ling, she was meant to keep Cat company while bedridden. When Cat died, Li Ling couldn't handle the mortality of the last living thing connecting her to Cat, so she had her blessed with longevity.

It's just a picture. While the woman featured is arguably happy, there's no context for that happiness. What we can see at a glance, is that it's old--
the paper is worn of color in places, the film is faded and the date has long since been smudged into a ghost of its former self.
It remains legible, reading less than clearly April, 1948. On the back in a hand more feminine, and differing from the front is a note that seems to have been penned years later:
"Cuore Mia,Do you remember this day?
Everything seemed to go against your plans, you were so adamant, I thought you might try to blow the clouds out of the sky yourself, first the rain that soaked our dresses and then the winds that toppled our tents. In spite of both, our wedding was beautiful. You were beautiful and I had never been so happy. These were the happiest years of my life, never forget that.
I want you to be that happy again, my Lily. Remember me, but please do not stop living.

Li Ling's known history is pretty standard, pretty basic and pretty boring. It's intended to be. With the dragging on of years, she's had to drastically alter how she lives in order to fly below the radar. Her lies are never far from the truth as a matter of maintaining the ruse and keeping it as believable as possible.
What is known is that she's a trust fund baby who's grown into her role as chairman of her family business, EB Textiles. She was born in Milan, raised all over Europe and came into her money per her father's Will. She lives alone, she's largely considered to be an automaton given her inability to stop for a second's reprieve and she seems to care very little for life's frivolities if it means sacrificing valuable time growing her corporate empire.
Never married, as far as anyone knows, no children, no family. All she has is work.
