I left my signature in Louisiana, where I am sure that theater will be enjoyed for decades to come. I was invited exclusively by the Children's Organization to their first performance there. It was quite something to see that stage come alive. What once was dust and broken floorboards was glistening with beauty and a vibrancy that was hidden for a century or more. It was a prime example as to why I do what I do. I do enjoy designing, don't get me wrong. But there has always been something about breathing new life into something that others have left to rot. And completely flooring them all when it shines. I guess you can say I am an architectural romantic. Just as I was enjoying the completion of the Theater, HQ rang in and pointed me in the direction of the West Coast. Of course, I was reluctant, given my successes in Louisiana. There was still much of the French Quarter I could have scouted. However, they also said this was a chance to establish an actual location rather than bounce from town to town. Don't get me wrong, I love the experience of meeting new people and seeing new sights. But having a constant.. I have to admit, that idea seemed a lot more appealing than I initially thought it would. So I packed it all up. Wished the Theater well, and off I went.. Towards the golden coast and onto a new horizon. |

What was that old saying? A rolling stone gathers no moss? I suppose that is true. For I have yet to feel the weight of the years I have lived. I am quite sure that if I did stay in one location, it surely would catch up to me. But alas, I have once again found myself on new soil with a thousand ideas and plenty of resources to make them a reality. New Versailles had always captured my eye, not only because of the architecture but the culture as well. Brimming with life, without a single limit to it's sky. Yes, the supernatural are alive and well here. And naturally, a city isn't without it's darker side. But I am looking to brighten it a tad. Leave my structural mark here as I have with every city and town I have visited. But for now? I have secured a renovation account in the historic district. An old theater in need of vibrancy. Walking into the place I could hear the plays from yesterday, see the chorus and smell the oil paints. It had seen it's fair share of the wealthy and privileged. Hand in hand with the local Children's Organization, I aim to make it a place to enrich the lives of those without art in their existence. Ahh, already I can see the summer plays drawing crowds and winter concerts bringing in the joys of the holidays. It shall be, in a word..
