A pair of glasses and useless encyclopedic knowledge personified, with dual braids and bangs so thick it was a wonder you could see her eyes. The dork had a penchant for overlarge water resistant boots and sun dresses, and if you happened to ask, she'd probably tell you all about the local insect populations and gardening. All in all, not what you'd expect of a majestic spirit of the wilds but then, not all of this wild earth is gnashing teeth and rending claws; sometimes it's the cautious deer. Abilities | This demure young woman wasn't called 'deer child' for nothing. Abbie is blessed with the ability to transform into a doe, littered with fawn-spots and possessing of antlers laden with wildflowers. Outside of this full transformation, these antlers are ever present atop her head, making the ability to glamour them away a necessity. Regardless of her form, she is adept at vitalizing and controlling various plant life, marking her as a spirit of nature. Background | Hailing from Brandon, Iowa, Abbie grew up proud to belong to a town that boasted the world's largest frying pan. With a medical doctor for a mother, and an overbearing one at that, she was raised to hold her academics in high esteem, as well as one's personal health. Drugs, alcohol, and the gateway poison of expletives were eschewed, and to this day the dweeb will rarely cuss beyond a spirited, "heck!" Her father owned a comic book shop sandwiched between two much larger businesses, and while the store's sales suffered for it, the place was a haven for little May. She grew up admiring heroes, and aspired to always make the right choice; this manifests in an active endeavor to show kindness, as well as to go out of her way to help others. In a life dominated by her mother's interests, there came days of freedom in which Abbie would escape to a nearby park. She found herself enthralled by the wildlife; particularly the greenery found alongside the banks of the Cedar River. There came a time when she'd learned to identify the name of each, and had taken to growing what she could in the garden of her own backyard. Botany inspired young Abbie May, and would become her legacy in a way she never could have expected. |
