  • ۞ Notable Features ۞ Claws, Tail
    Long, slightly spade-like claws on their forepaws to aid in digging and climbing. Their hind paws are splayed and wide, to aid when walking on unstable forest terrain. Tail is quite long in comparison to his height.


    ۞Natural Defenses ۞ Tar Spit
    Tar Glands found are in the roof of the mouth and lower jaw by the base of the tongue.
    It is a viscous black liquid produced primarily from the resin of wood and roots in the Zykla's diet. The tar-like spit is used as a defense, and when used, the substance becomes thick and sticky, clinging to the surface of its desired target. Victims are cautioned when attacked as the substance is flammable.


    ۞Hindrances ۞ Nyctalopia
    Zykla have poor night vision. This condition is typically known as Nyctalopia. This means they are lacking the reflective lenses in their eyes that Jackals and snow leopards possess. Nyctalopia is a condition making it difficult or impossible to see in relatively low light. It is a symptom of several eye diseases. Nyctalopia may exist from birth, or be caused by injury or malnutrition. The 'night blindness' typically only comes into effect when little to no light is provided; such as going outdoors at night, or when a large room is only provided a single source of low light.
  • ۞ Bloodforce ۞
    Glitterdust
    A side effect of using Bloodforce, trace elements of the wisp can remain caught in the Zykla's fur even after all available Bloodforce has been spent. They are often seen being cast away by shaking or other swift movements, but cannot be rubbed, combed, or washed out. The Glitterdust will fade on its own in time. Bloodforce is not an elemental ability. It does not draw power from the fire, air, water, and earth of the Physical world, and can only affect them when used upon them already existing. The Bloodforce manipulates the physical realm on a macro level, but cannot change the physical makeup of any object.     		Wisps
    When the Bloodforce is utilized by a Zykla, a colored aura will emanate from the user's fingertips. Directly connected to the ability being used by the Zykla and will follow the manipulation as it carries out. It has been observed, that the Wisp can also spill from the mouth with exhales.

    Soulgrip
    Soulgrip is a form of telekinesis that allows the Zykla to expend harvested blood force to manipulate objects at a distance, as though they had extended their hand to reach it. This is often limited to simple grabs or pushes, as fine motor skills become more complicated at distances. Amount of Bloodforce spent is equal in proportion to the amount of weight being manipulated and for how long. A secondary form of Soulgrip is a form of levitation in which the Zykla call Tetherbreaking.

    Soulburn
    While Passive light by nature, the Glitterdust is not harmless. So many flecks of light, fragments of cinder, left to drift fresh and smoldering from the defensive Zykla hide. These short-lived embers can be drawn like Glitter, swept and blown by swinging limbs or emptied lungs only to swarm their target in a cloud of heated asphyxiation. While not lethal, the burning sensation can torment eyes and throat alike, disorient at best or leave hacking their lungs out at worst.

    Soulsense
    Although not an active ability, when a Zykla is using their Bloodforce, they can get "tastes" of the souls around them. This is not so focused as to sense memories or thoughts but does offer a greater sensitivity to the emotional state of another. This ability is beyond the physical body, and only one that has an understanding of the Bloodforce can hope to defend against it, let alone fool it.

    Soul Soothing
    Zykla may be creatures of taboo practices, but they are not without hearts. With the craft of their Bloodforce, practiced Zykla will help ease the emotional pain of another in need with the help of Soul Soothing. A simple breath or a gentle cast of their wrist the ethereal tendrils of their Bloodforce can manifest a small cloud, veiling over to swathe their quarry. In turn, this provides an incredible boon to the other as a measure of safety, security, quieting their mind as amenity washes away whatever hardships they may have recently endured.

    The effects of Soul Soothing will determine the severity of the other's emotional state, lasting for a few hours on up to a week and repeated if needed for extreme cases.

    Soulstep
    Practiced Zykla may take refuge in the arms of their Bloodforce. At some cost, they might focus upon any point within their field of vision and take a single step towards it regardless of distance. Though a mere instant for the caster, observers will see the Zykla move into a veiling cloud of glitter dust only to fade from the eye as they complete their jaunt and reappear in a new location the Zykla was not at previously.

    Soulstep is not without limitations. The casting Zykla is unable to travel through walls, the bars of a cage or if they are bound. The Zykla must be free of restraints and the area relatively open. The cost of their Bloodforce reserves will depend on the distance of their travel. A few steps will be less draining to their reserves, while a few yards will be more taxing.
