Ashten Scordato

A woman with a checkered past, Ashten spends most of her time now between trying to live normally and making up for past wrongdoing. She is very strong willed, and tries her best to do right. However, she has trouble interacting with others and expressing her feelings properly, even being a bit of a bully at times. The hard, sandpapery exterior is all a bit of a ruse though- inside the big tough front she puts up is a small scared dog with its tail between its legs.

The other side of this is that because she has a hard time getting along with most people, is that when someone does see through her facade and takes the time to try and be friends, she is hard pressed to let them go and is even easily manipulated this way, willing to go above and beyond for someone in order to keep them from leaving or getting harmed.

A long desert highway at night. A lone black beast traveling over the still-warm pavement, stars and dirt stretching on forever into the badlands.

It all feels like a bad dream now, another lifetime ago that she lived as a professional criminal. Groomed by her family to be a sort of super soldier to use for their own nefarious ends, Ashten has overseen arms deals and heists and was very good at what she did. Everything from negotiation to get-away driving was in her wheelhouse. Eventually, she got away from it and found out that there was more to life than just crime and punishment and constant training to drive her down, and that there was something beyond the mask.

It was all ripped away when they found her again, and took her back forcefully. Any good that she had tried to do during that time was erased, and she was forced back into being Castor. It was like hell for her, and eventually she squashed everything down so far that the whole period felt like a blur until she broke away. With the help of a family friend, they both got out of the business and put the rest of the family into prison.

Now, she simply wanders. A trust fund kid with little practical experience and a lot of combat training. She tried the vigilante lifestyle, but it just wasn't for her- too many bad memories and too few rewards, she has shacked up in a little place in the desert, armed to the teeth and living with fear of her parents reappearing.

The Beast: Ashten's main bit of kit is her car. It is a '69 Mustang that she restored herself. The thing is usually a mess since she generally tends to live out of it when she's travelling. It is decked out like a racecar, with switches and a starting sequence instead of keys, racing seats, and a rollcage, all made and installed by herself. She is trained in professional level driving, with interest in rally style driving and gymkhana.

Armed and Dangerous: Ashten rarely ever goes anywhere without some kind of weapon, carry anything from small knives to firearms. She keeps a few weapons in the trunk of her car as well, but mainly just a baseball bat that she's run some nails through. It works for her in a pinch.

Catlike: Trained in gymnastics starting at a young age, and then into combat, Ashten is equipped with above average agility and reflexes. She can take several more than her number in a fight, and has scars to prove it. She also has a very high pain threshold, so it is very hard to put her down in a fight unless someone is equally, or more skilled than her. Finally, she is exceptionally skilled at casing buildings and areas. She always has an escape plan.

Upper Hand: Ashten was taught from an early age that you have to fake it until you make it. She is able to walk with confidence into a place she doesn't necessarily belong with confidence to avoid having questions asked of her. It is often a priority for her in 'business' interactions to take control, which manifests as a cool and calculated conversation and sometimes painful bluntness. However, in everyday social interactions, she tends to fumble or come off as bitchy.
