Ryan

Ryan has spent the last two years traveling the United States, never really sticking to any one place for long. Currently he’s living out of a rusted 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass he purchased a few months back. The car is way past it’s prime, the rust on the underbelly and threadbare tires belying the fact that it hasn’t seen much maintenance lately. The rear window is missing and has been fixed with a bit of masking tape and saran wrap to keep it closed off to the elements. There are huge claw marks on the top of the rear trunk as if something busted it’s way out of the back of the car.

Everything Ryan owns has been packed into the little car, his clothing, toiletries, a multitude of dime store paperbacks and a few blankets and pillows all litter the back seat. It is often kept in disarray, empty bottles and other trash such as food wrappers and empty cigarette packs litter the floor. It’s pretty obvious when looking at it that there’s someone living inside but he tends to keep out of sight for the most part when he’s hunkering down for the night. He also maintains a membership with a local gym for the use of their showers and can be found here every couple days for grooming purposes.

His affliction makes keeping a stable job difficult as once a month he becomes particularly unwieldy and requires time off to deal with the change. This can put a damper on career prospects when combined with issues controlling his temper and erratic behavior as well as a need to leave town if something happens that could shed a spotlight on what he is and attract unwanted attention. He works a variety of jobs, often finding odd work here and there or working on ranches or farms seasonally.

Ryan does not have much of a social life due to a perceived need to distance himself for the safety of others. He is not likely to seek out others in the interest of friendship or romance. He tends to stick to working or alone time but will, on occasion, visit any hole in the wall bar to let himself feel as if he's got some tether left between himself and his lost humanity, even if only for a couple hours.
