Backstory
Wenling never knew her parents growing up. The only person in her life was her brother Dian Wei. He cared for her and looked after her. Her brother was everything to her and she cared deeply for him. Despite his appearance and reputation Wenling never feared for herself when her brother was around. The only time she was scared was when her brother was angry. He lost control of himself and went into a kind of rage. However, he never hurt her while in one of these rages. Wenling never wanted to lose her brother and felt his rages would lead to his untimely death. The two of them were at a feast when she lost her brother in 197. Wenling was only 7 years old at the time. He died to protect Lord Cao Cao from assassins. She was devastated by this loss and felt alone in the world.
Cao Cao took the young woman under his wing. Wenling was raised with Cao Pi and the other child that Cao Cao had sired by numerous women. She was treated as part of the family. The young girl felt indebted to the Cao family and vowed to serve them until her death. She was no longer feeling alone in the world. Growing up, she held great respect for Cao Cao no matter what anyone else believed about him. Wenling would fight to protect him as she grew older. Her duties at first were smaller but grew with time. She was a capable fighter and proved that on and off the battlefield. It was said her skills could rival those of Zhang Liao and Xu Zhu even from a young age.
After Cao Cao’s death in 220, Wenling disappeared. While she grew up with the other member’s of the Cao family the only to hold her respect was Cao Cao. She felt like she would be dishonoring Cao Cao and her brother’s memory by remaining in Wei. Wenling left in the middle of the night never to be seen again. Rumors spread that various people had seen her wandering the countryside for many years to come.

Backstory
Cao Heng was born to an unnamed women and Cao Ren in the year 206 AD. As the young man was growing up he started to take after his father more and more. While his father was a little wilder in his youth, Cao Heng, did not show this tendency. Cao Heng showed a calm and level head in his life and actions. There was a strong desire to protect those less fortunate or unable to protect themselves. Cao Heng took to his own training with vigor. He was determined to be like his father. A shield for the people of Wei.
Cao Heng had a normal life growing up during the warring times. There were certain expectations placed on him but Heng made sure to rise to the challenge. He developed a strong sense for hard work and keeping an open mind. As a bodyguard in training, it was important for him to keep his head on straight. While his father wanted him to be able to use the same weapon as he did, this was not the case with Cao Heng. Cao Heng showed more of a proficiency with using swords. He is able to use two swords, one in each hand, with relative ease. Cao Heng keeps three swords on him at all times.
On the field of battle, Cao Heng was starting to make a name for himself, like his father. In the beginning, when he was still quite young, he stuck close to his father to observe his techniques up close. This stuck with Cao Heng throughout the years and helped shaped him into the warrior he currently was. As time went on, Cao Heng became a force to be reckoned with. Much like his father, Cao Heng would not be moved on the battlefield. He was a fearsome warrior who held his ground no matter what the odds were against him. Cao Cao came to rely on the young man much like his father. Both of them would become the shields that would protect Wei from outside and inside threats.
