Zanril Xokrug

Zanril is the result of a tanarukk, which is an orc with demonic heritage, raping a human woman. His mother barely survived the experience, and left him abandoned in the woods. He wandered feral through the wilderness for a few years before he was found by some orcs. They were going to kill him at first, but decided to take him before their shaman. Some of their prophecies had foretold of a strange creature that resembled an orc being found. The shaman would have to decide whether this thing lived or died.

The shaman was unsettled, but impressed against his will because Zanril could produce and manipulate fire. Despite his horns, facial ridges and pointed teeth, he was provided with food and shelter in the hopes he would bring the tribe power one day. When he proved to be a useful addition to the tribe, he was named and adopted by the chieftain. As the half-tanarukk grew, he became well respected and eventually took father's place. He had been trained in the ways of a warrior, and he wanted to learn the ways of magic. He could feel the ability burgeoning within him. Zanril has spent many years gaining power, knowledge and allies to both himself and his tribe. He has plans for establishing a territory for his people, and gaining for them all the things he's been deprived of. When meeting with people outside his tribe, he disguises himself as a half-orc. The appearance of his horns, facial ridges and tail would give him away as a demon, and so he acquired a glamour ring to make himself appear 'normal.'

Zanril is out for all the power, money and land he can get. He will do whatever he can to secure what he thinks that his tribe deserves, and that he deserves. For many generations, the tribe had been resentful of lands they had lost centuries before. The orcs had been driven from fertile lands, forced to hide among caves. He caused enough trouble with skirmishes for neighboring nations of elves, dwarves and humans to notice as he started his efforts to take back what was theirs. Right under their noses, he had somehow formed an army and gained the use of formidable allies and magic. Who had ever heard of a barbaric half-orc having the brains for sorcery and strategy? His enemies had underestimated him at first, which has helped lead to his success. Zanril is known as a warlord by some, a general by his troops, and as a wicked monster to the lands he's invaded. Few know his true nature, those that find out are most often killed shortly after.
