Arrival and Mother's Package October 6th 2017
My first evening within the strange place called the Golden Tether was eventful to say the least. I met a handsome white lion named Tettell, who was unfortunately already owned by a Lady Ahio Hemingway - a brown lioness. Both had impeccable manners, so I should hope to befriend them if I am not to feel so utterly alone here. I also met Taneest Grimm, and saw a lion named Master Cross, though we did not speak. I must learn what that title means, for it must be one of high standing.
On that note...
I am not sure how, but a slim package entitled only "For my son" arrived at the door to my suite the following morning, after I discovered I am quite allergic to artichokes and asparagus. Though I was still feeling rather ill, the package vastly improved my mood.
I had not realized my mother still lived, nor that she could write, if this package is to be believed.
It must be true. My father is dead (and I spit on the ground in his "honor"), but Mother, a gryphoness without a name to me, has sent me a single flight feather from her no doubt glorious wings.
I am... uncertain how she came to know I was here, nor how it arrived so quickly. Hermes himself must have had a hand in such a swift delivery. Am I blessed by the Grrecian primes?
I do not know. Nothing is certain, anymore.
I will braid this feather into my mane and remember Mother always. Her sacrifices cannot be in vain.
