• Description

  Sauron is 5'6" with long black hair that ends in gold tips, and crimson red eyes. He wears a raven black chestplate that has silver embroidered into it, with a long sleeve silk shirt underneath. His cloak seems like it's made from the shadow's themselves, and when he pulls the hood up, his face is completely shrouded in darkness. He wears black silk pants, with black leather boots that come up to his knees, and fold down. There are dragons embroidered in gold on the fold-down parts. He has a sword on each hip. The sword on his left hip has an ivory pommel with an emerald encrusted into the pommel, and silver crossguard. The sheath is ivory as well, with silver embroidery in a criss-cross pattern from end to end, with emeralds in the sections between the criss-cross pattern. The sword on his right hip has an onyx pommel with a ruby encrusted into the pommel, and a gold crossguard. The sheath is onyx as well, with gold embroidery in a criss-cross pattern from end to end, with rubies in the sections between the criss-cross pattern. He has two necklaces. One is a small heart locket made of gold, and the other is a platinum pendant with a staff and a mace crossed together, a sword standing on point between them. He has several rings, one of which looks like a wedding band, and another with the staff/mace/sword symbol as does his necklace.

• Biography

  Sauron was originally born in the depths of his home plan, under the surface dwellers whom shunned his people and for good reason. He was born a Drow, a dark elf, considered on many planes of existence to be among the most evil and vile creatures where even certain types of demons held fear to speak to them. They live mostly without light, only ever using it when the need to read was present. They all have ebony skin, with white hair.
  
  The skill of the Drow, however, is unparalleled. Combat, art, and magic were nearly effortless for them. Many would dedicate their lives to a single pursuit, though a few would branch out in their long lives to learn all they could. His father was a renowned practitioner of melee combat, among the best known names ever heard of through his people. Naturally, his father began teaching him the was of the sword. Sauron picked them up easily enough, though not as well as his father had hoped, given his renown. It wasn't until Sauron was older that he understood why. Unlike the rest of their kin, Sauron was not born with the evil spirit of the Drow, and did not hold the natural hatred of his people. What the rest of the Drow did not know, is that his father did not have such a spirit either, and instead his skill was born out of an instinct to survive. He had been planning a way to escape his people, but upon becoming as successful of a combatant as he had, he was too well known to escape without being found and executed for his crime of desertion. Instead, he taught Sauron all he could about survival outside of the city, in the hopes that he would understand what he should do with this information.
  
  Sauron understood quickly, and in a relatively short period of time, he left his home city to roam the caverns his surrounding his peoples ancient home. With heavy use of stealth tactics and some great skill with his blade, he was able to survive for many years. After a countless time, he happened upon an alter in the caverns. In the center of this alter was a single red stone. It was a curiosity for him, but it seemed to call for him to simply pick it up, to which he obliged. As soon as the stone was in his hands, a voice echoed in his mind. "You are greater than all of your people. You alone have the power to create or destroy, if you would but seek it out and claim it." And so, he began practicing.
  
  Through many more years, he would visit the alter every day and learn the magical arts that the strange stone would provide him. The stone never gave him a name, nor did it speak as to it's purpose in training him, nor any other information aside from how to cast the spells that he was to learn. He learned all the basics of casting from this stone, and even some of the more advanced techniques. Finally, one day the stone stopped speaking to him, without cause or reason. It was then that Sauron realized what he must do. So, he left his dark world, and attempted to live among the surface dwellers.
  
  As he knew it would be, the surface dwellers did not trust him. Most would run from him in absolute fear, assuming he was there for the same nefarious reasons as his kinsmen. Those who did not run would try to kill him, regardless of his clear ability to kill them, and having never once injured them. He roamed the surface world for a few years before he happened upon a small keep, nestled on a cliff side with a single road leading in and out. This keep had high walls, and a large tower reaching deep into the sky from its center. He approached, and was amazed to find that they did not turn him away. They only demanded that he give a book of great value before he was admitted. Reaching into his pack, he pulled a book he kept since childhood, and offered it in exchange for admittance. As script from his kinsmen was considered highly valuable, he was granted access, and given the rules for his stay.
  
  It did not take long for him to find out that the tower was a great library, where ancient texts and tomes were stored. He realized soon that his childhood book would come to rest in this hall for all of time, and he was content with this. Here he met an old human who seemed well past his useful years. His name was Kalarim, and was more widely known as Grand Master. Kalarim took a keen interest in Sauron, and decided to teach him what he knew of the arts as well after a period of his stay there. Here, Sauron's abilities grew greatly, and he learned more of the magic arts that this world had available. Kalarim, after a few years, would confide in him that Sauron was to be his last student, as he knew his time was nearing its end. The only thing he ever asked of Sauron was the he use this knowledge responsibly. Sauron took those words to heart.
  
  After Kalarim passed, Sauron left the great library, and traveled the world. Using his arts and his ability of stealth, he passed through many towns under the guise of a surface dweller. He ended up in a great port town, full of criminals and corrupt politicians. It is here that he met Meliadoul. It was her fiery red hair that originally caught his gaze, for she stood out among the rest of the crowd. She noticed him, as well, and simply smirked. What seemed by chance, they later found each other at the same tavern. Upon seeing him, she sauntered up to him, seduction pouring from her very being, and sat down at his table and simply began talking. Throughout the course of a few months, he learned that she was really the leader of the Thieves guild, and that she saw great potential in him. It was here that he would spend the next series of uncounted years of his life.
  
  In exchange for his services and teachings of greater stealth techniques, Meliadoul paired him with a mage who specialized in stealth techniques. He would teach Meliadoul, in confidence and in secret, the techniques of his people, their ancient hand language, and the tactics of tracking in the dark and untrackable terrain. And after each session, she would send him to learn from this mage. The mage was greatly impressed with Sauron's knowledge of the arts, and by the time the mage had taught Sauron what he could, he asked that Sauron teach him what he knew. But Sauron could tell that this man was not worthy of the knowledge he possessed. Though Meliadoul was upset at his denial of services, she knew she could not match Sauron's skill, even after all he had shown her. Soon after, he left the city, to travel the wilderness.
  
  It was during his travels at this time that he happened upon another such alter, much like the one he found in the caves of his people. This alter was just as plain as the previous, and upon it sat a single white stone. After a moment of contemplation, Sauron picked up the stone, and again he heard the familiar voice. "I see you've come this far, as I knew you would. You've learned the power to create and destroy, and now it is time to learn the secrets of repair, and the cosmos." And thus began his next magical journey.
  
  He had lost track of time by the end of his teachings. Time held no meaning to him anymore, it seemed. After countless years of practice, much like before, he had learned ancient and powerful arts in healing and the divine. He understood what the veil was that separated the worlds, and knew he was so close to finally piercing that veil. And, just like before, one day he picked up the stone, and it no longer spoke to him. With frustration and anger at not having completed his training this time, he threw the stone. The stone landing some distance away from him, and belying the small size of the stone and it's light weight, he heard a loud crash. Running to where the stone was, he saw instead a large hole in the ground. He easily descended into the depths of the hole, and found the white stone resting next to a black stone of the exact same size, also upon a similar alter. He picked them both up, and the final secrets of the veil were revealed to him. "Your training is at an end. You are ready to walk the planes. Your journey is finally about to begin." And with that, the stones disappeared.
