• Skills & Abilities

  Master Cryomancer: Riya specializes in ice magic, able to freeze enemies solid for her warrior companions to shatter. Spells include:

  • Winter's Ruin: Lock a target in a sheet of ice, freezing it in place. Enemies that are already frozen or chilled take massive damage when hit with Winter's Grasp. *
  • Frost Step: Let invisible waves of magic carry you forward, blurring ahead a short distance. Passing through enemies hurts them and leaves them chilled.*
  • Ice Storm: Summon a freezing blizzard to chill and damage enemies caught in the area. This spell chills enemies, progressively slowing them until they are frozen.*

  Knight Enchanter: Although called a Knight Enchanter by the humans and the Chantry, the art dates back to ancient Elvhenan as Arcane Warriors. These are battlemages in every sense, with an almost indomitable defense and even the ability to wield a summoned spirit blade. Their magical energy is replenished quicker in battle and their barriers are extraordinarily strong. Spells/skills include:

  • Spirit Blade: Create a blade of solid magic to make melee attacks against nearby enemies. Dealing damage with other abilities charges the blade. Attacking expands this charge to deal additional damage.*
  • Resurgence: Call on benign spirits to restore the self and allies for continuing the fight. All party members are healed to full health, including those who have fallen unconscious, and a glyph provides ongoing healing to the party for the spell's duration. This ability consumes and is powered by focus.*

  Spirit Mage: While her specialization lies in cryomancy, Riya is quite proficient in Spirit magic as well. Her barriers are exceptional, and she is known to call upon spirits to help her in the heat of battle. Spells include:

  • Energetic Defense: A barrier provides an additional health bar that must be destroyed before the target will take any damage. Barrier is vulnerable to dispel effects. Riya's barrier holds its full strength for longer before it begins to decay.*
  • Cleansing Blast: Send enemies staggering with an explosion of willpower that drives them back and makes them less likely to target you again. Riya can use Mind Blast to remove all negative status effects from herself.*

  Templar Resistance: While Riya is a mage and, therefore, susceptible to the power of Templars, she - with the help of others at Haven/Skyhold - has trained herself to be able to fight without her magic and to withstand weaker Templar attacks.
  
  Lore Expert: Riya is a curious soul and has, over time, collected a wealth of knowledge of everything from the history of the Elvhen people to the expansion of the Tevinter Imperium. Despite not being able to read the Common Trade language easily, she is well versed in the tales and legends of many peoples.
  
  Herbalist: Having never been particularly good with healing magic, Riya instead took to herbalism and alchemy. Her pack is always well-stocked with herbs and flasks and the means to make just about any potion or poultice that could be needed. Her ability to make potions on the fly in the field makes her an invaluable member of any squad.
