Raedun Raun

Raed started as an urchin, but her talents lead her towards more physical pursuits. Sure, she had plenty of charisma and could talk her way into (and out of) almost anything, but it was a hell of a lot simpler to get paid as hired muscle. She hardly has to work a day in her life.

And her evenings were open for tavern crawls and her other hobbies: drinking, gambling, and "befriending" drunk adventurers. It let her make off with at least one interesting trinket a night and a lot of exciting stories.

Those stories put it in Raed's head to become an adventurer herself. Traveling to far places, fighting monsters, and bringing back mysterious treasures seemed the perfect fit for her tastes. It was just too bad that getting started was such an expensive endeavor. You either lost everything and had nowhere to go, or you had the money to get yourself properly equipped.

Seemed like there was no middle in origin stories.

For whatever reason, one of the taverns' regulars took a particular shine to Raed. Actually tracked her down some nights to play cards and tell his tales. When she (half-jokingly) suggested he train her, he happily obliged.

He gave her some simple armor and has been teaching her how to fight with a wide array of weapons. She still prefers her clubs, though. It's nice having the option to just rough someone up instead of cutting them to ribbons.
