  • Cendis is Djinn, the embodiment of fire and its transformative qualities. A being of incredible power that must be contained. For centuries he was bound to a Hookah lamp. Forced to obey the whims of whosoever possessed it. His bottled-up magic containing the means to grant wishes, to shape and transform the world into whatever the wisher required, within reason. There were things outside of his power, but that did not stop those who knew of the hookah's properties to do anything to get it. Much blood had been spilt over the relic, and yet, time and again it would fall into obscurity. The unknowing glancing past the dusty hookah. But eventually, someone would be blessed, and cursed, with its secret.

    After centuries of this fate, Cendis would find release, though he would never be truly free. A mage released him from the hookah, but not before embedding a gem into his brow. The gem was meant to contain the Djinn's magic, to siphon it to the mage himself. This left Cendis weakened, but he did not need all his power to be a danger. The mage died in the resulting inferno, and Cendis fled, seeking a world that no longer exist, and a solution to his binding that would not come.

    But Cendis wasn't always a Djinn, once he had been human, one who had been long forgotten.

  • Abilities
    In the Lamp:
    • Able to transform the shape of himself and others
    • Able to become smoke, or be altogether invisible
    • Able to transform anything into anything else. The farther removed from the original the harder
    • Able to summon and displace things to and from a pocket dimension
    • Able to implant vague false memories to facilitate a granted wish
    Free:
    • Able to summon fire and flames at will
    • Able to control existing flames
    • Able to create flames that are smokeless, heatless, or that does not burn
    • Able to transform into a fire elemental
    • Heals 2x faster than humans
    • Resistant to most forms of magic or similar effects
  • Weaknesses
    In the Lamp:
    • Cannot completely override a person's free will
    • Cannot implant complex memories
    • Damage to the hookah is reflected onto him
    • Cannot refuse a direct order from his current master
    • previous wishes granted reverse when summoned by a new master
    Free:
    • Weak to water, cannot kill him but can be very painful
    • Healing factor still takes time and isn't instant
    • Resistant does not mean immune and the gem can be overwhelmed
    • Flames can be triggered by emotional reactions
    • Needs sustenance to survive and is only functionally immortal, meaning he can be killed by means other than age
