At twelve years of age for the twins, Genesis had two more children, another set of twins, one a girl and one a boy; Coral and Spirit. Crow immediately took to his little sister, the runt of the two, and found a friend he never knew he needed outside of his own imaginary book world. The family quickly learned that the children had Waardenburg Syndrome, and while Spirit was only deaf in one ear, Coral had no hearing whatsoever. Taking care of this little pair brought its troubles to the family, but Crow helped the little girl blossom, teaching himself sign language, among the few other languages he had accrued by this point, in order to speak with the girl. As with Crow, however, Leo had taken a liking to this girl, now treating her in the same fashion he did Crow, though certainly 'lighter', testing his limits. By this time, he had become sadistic with Crow, giving his boy scars unseen by the outside world. This father would often threaten Coral with worse punishment if Crow did not behave in his own abuse, and as such, the boy became even more submissive. In mid-highschool, puberty hit little runty Crow like a truck, and the boy sprouted like a tree. Due to his intelligence, and a desire to put off being home as long as possible, Crow joined every club and after-school activity he could, while his father also pressed him into joining sports, football mainly.
