  I wish that time would stop just this once. I want to hold you in my arms again. I want you to come home and I want your pain to go away. Mother has not yet forgiven you for leaving us, but that time will come, even if it takes a hundred years. I can't stand it that you're gone. But I know you had a plan and that you would oversee it safely. It's a miserable time in Valenwood these days, and not having you around to protect us makes Mother anxious. If you don't come home soon, she will slip away and get herself hurt.
  
  I know I can never send you any letters. After I finish this one, it will go in the cupboard with the rest of them. It is too dangerous to send any couriers to Balmora... if that is where you are right now. I just hope that somehow, the Gods will influence you to come home soon. It isn't easy for me to hold a sword anymore. I just can't hold it up. Mother snapped my bow in half and burned it. She thought that the arrows would startle the enemies and draw them closer to us. I fear that our family is falling apart even more with each passing day.
  
  Please do not blame yourself for any of it. None of the things that have happened to us are because of you. Father shouldn't have disowned you for standing up for what you believe in. You may be dead to him, but you aren't dead to me. And don't think for a minute that just because we're not related by blood makes you any less a Benoch. I know it troubles you that the only family you had ever known has turned their backs on you. Not I, Tharin. I will never turn my back on you. If I could hear your voice calling for me, I would run across all of Tamriel just to be by your side again.
  
  They were wrong to blame you for Fierla and for burning her body after she died. You saved her. She would have done the same for you. This pact that is holding us down will not be the thing that kills us. You and I are going to meet again, and when we do, we will leave behind the past and set our stones in this world as victors.
