Aggression
They show unfathomable amounts of aggression, hostility, and malice. Chances of reasoning were not possible.
When we approached with any method of charity the specimens would only respond with heightened levels of aggression. Reproductive
We believe the Alpha is the only one permitted to mate and delegate the pack's numbers. Of the few live specimens we've managed to capture, males and females, they would not engage each other even under serene conditions.
Occasionally, the specimens would resort to creative means of masturbation and nothing more. It would also appear that the stimulus release of orgasm did not calm their aggressive behaviour either. In conclusion, between their highly active libido and female fertility cycles occurring every 2 weeks, this may explain why they are able to increase their pack size very quickly. |
Intellect
Hyper focused, vigilant, and progressive. We feel our tests and observations have thoroughly concluded what these creatures have to offer.
Problem Solving
Initial testing revealed little to no problem-solving skills whatsoever. However, if left to it for any amount of time, they would eventually begin to work amongst each other toward the common goal.
|
Territory
Due to the dangerous nature of field testing; we have only been able to monitor the few living subjects we managed to capture. Observations have shown no anticipated results, however, given the aggressive nature and strong pack mentality, we can safely hypothesize that these creatures will become unfathomably hostile if an intruder gets too close to their breeding grounds.
Overall Temperment
Overall, our studies have concluded these beasts know no bounds to their hostile behaviour. There is no taming them. The only logical course of action if you should encounter them is to eradicate them; running is futile!
They are unrelenting, morbid, and maleficent. More pressingly, their appetite seemed to be insatiable and due to this, we believe this primal hunger is what drives their very existence. |
Mountains
Sightings have confirmed a high presence of these creatures within forested areas that typically cover an entire mountain range. It is highly advised against any night travel in areas where these creatures are known to thrive.
|
Forests (General)
Sightings are most common in such places, especially in warmer climates. These creatures are nocturnal but there are instances when the forest canopy is so dense that it remains dark on the forest floor. An example of such an exception is the Black Forest of lower Germany.
|
Swamps
Swamps and marshes are likely to have an infestation of these creatures thriving within as well. However, due to humidity, there are only so many swamps where they could settle.

Height & Posture
Males: 5'10" - 6'3"
Females: 5'8" - 6'0" Adult males range from 5'10"-6'2". Females aren't too far below those averages, though that is subjective. However, if they were to stand straight up, they could be as tall as 6'10". This isn't possible due to their feralistic anatomy that also allows them to comfortably switch between bipedal and quadrupedal. Weight
Males: 220lb - 300lb+
Female: 200lb - 280lb Adult males and females range from 220lb to a whopping 300lb+. Athletic and agile ones tend to have a leaned out body structure, ectomorphs. Those nearing 260lb or greater were generally mesomorphs; of this range were generally higher ranking, well fed, and brutes. Diseases
We have found that these creatures seem to suffer from Chronic Wasting Disease or 'C.W.D' and a mutated string of the rabis virus. During our tests of a live specimen we found that the root cause of the C.W.D was a type of fungus with a highly active mutagen that somehow registers as a Prion Protein when analyzed. This fungus also seems to behave like the Rabies Lyssavirus in a live host which would explain the host's unyielding hostility and aversion to bright lights. We have yet to understand how this can be, but we bleive this is a defense strategy so the body's immune system will not respond with full force as the Prion side of this may be an acting trojan. Until further studies commence we have code-named it 'Sanies Lupinus Prionous' or simply S.L.P.. So far, there have been no definitively known cases of Zoonosis. Pending further investigation.
In a deceased specimen, studies have shown that S.L.P. continues to erode the body away. Within a matter of ten-to-fourteen days the body will be nothing more than a husk of dried skin over the bone structure accompanied with a foul scent that some canidae seem to be attracted to. We have noticed the fungal strand of S.L.P. will attempt to spread to any botany in the surrounding area. But, it would appear, much to our relief, that plants do not provide it enough substance that are necessary for it to survive outside of an organic host. However, we have found that S.L.P. will attack beings of the Canidae Kingdom, feral or anthropomorphic. Transmission can occur if the fungi hasn't completely died off and cause the new host to go mad, thus restarting this hellish cycle. Further investigation is needed. The only known infectious danger to everyone else would be any transmission of any bodily fluids. Even fecal matter, however, fecal matter does become inert and safe to handle after some time has passed. Due to the rot and toxins of their mutated physiology, if a victim isn't killed by the initial attack then they will surely succumb to their injuries by way of septic shock. Sepsis can be treated but the victim only has an average of fifteen minutes before imminent and irreversible organ failure occurs. |
Talons
Hands, or paws, dawn 1¾in long and ½in wide talons (or 44MM x 13MM). Toes have proportionally increased sizes by 14%.
Dew claws are only present on males and are the largest talon on the body. They are used to help them climb trees and take down large prey. Skeleton
Despite the minor differences from male to female (dew claws, number of fingers, etc), their skeletal structure is relatively identical.
Heads were large and wide with medium to short snouts. Arms were long with slightly shorter digi-grade legs, allowing them to become bipedal or drop to be quadrupedal. Fingers and thumbs were long and thick, easy for grasping large powerful prey and objects. Medium to short length abdominals with slightly higher vertebrae count which makes it easy for them to be aerobatic and with limited flexibility. Finally, their tails were short like Canus Dirus; the only exception being females having slightly longer tails but not easily notable. The only true difference will be females have slightly wider pelvic areas. Perhaps due to their reproductive ability. Diet
Their hunger appears to be their only driving force and it knows no bounds. Gluttonous would be an accurate description of their appetite.
They won't scavenge for expired flesh, instead, they only hunt for living flesh. They will hunt for something as small as a chipmunk to as big as an elephant. |
Dental
Maxillary: Extreme overbite of the lateral incisors; often extending more than 3-4in and 1-½ - 2in in diameter. Both male and females share these.
Mandibular: Extreme underbite of the canine incisors and exposed as well. However, a 6% reduction in size contrast to the lateral incisors. Together, with the Maxillary and Mandibular, formed a deadly scissor bite that can accomplish clean tears without the need to rip. Overall, their dental work is quite ghastly but each tooth had its purpose in this scissor-like action. Also, due to this extreme dental, it would appear they can not seal their mouths shut thus they salivate profusely. Females only have visible lateral incisor overbites and can be mistaken for sabers. However, this trait allows them to be easily distinguished from males. Epidermus/Pelt
They have double coats and overall are medium coats suited for cold climates. While they may not do well in hot-dry biomes, there have been sightings in some tropical and desert areas.
The skin underneath is tough and should they be wounded, may not heal properly or at all. The epidermis contained a thicker than normal Stratum Lucidum layer. This trait was typically found in the palms of hands and soles of feet, among other joint areas where skin would need to be more resilient. We believe this is what makes their skin so tough. Lastly, this meant they will shed quite a bit. |
Flanking
This was a rather basic tactic; they'd attempt to surround their prey then converge from all sides in a staggered formation to prevent accidental friendly-fire. The beta in charge of the hunting party will typically be front-n-centre while having his lessers the ones doing the flanking.
Sheer Numbers
Occasionally, they will overpower their prey with their numbers if available. They will often employ this tactic against known large prey and troublesome prey.
However, we've witnessed them do this merely for a swift kill. We believe this display of desperation only means they are actually on the verge of starving. |
Sizing Up
We've noticed they will sometimes face-off with their prey; typically smaller hunting parties or a one-on-one match. We think this is because they feel a possible threat or chance of losing. This would appear to be the most blatant tactical procedure they perform.
|
Waitout
This isn't something we've seen them do a lot; typically only the higher ranking (more intelligent) members of the pack will employ this tactic if absolutely necessary. Especially if they have prey cornered and they know there is no other way out than the path the pray took to get in the confined space.
Of course, all bets were off if these creatures could merely fit inside the space where their prey ran to hide away. |
