  I will come back when I am ready. I know I may have chosen the wrong path for the right reasons and if you knew about my actions thus far, you would be disappointed. I can already tell you that even though this letter may never reach you, I am still doing all I can to bring you to a better place. In the years of my absence, I have traveled as far north as Tamriel could go in order to seek out a plan. Chorrol is still in my line of site and I need to get my earnings before I can return. I have been to Morrowind and even High Rock. I can say that my decision to join this guild is much of an easier option. Honest work would never have given me this much opportunity and experience of the real world.
  
  I have been across the plains of Oblivion in a manner of speaking. I have made friends, and I have met a Dunmer woman who I have come to like... maybe a little more than is appropriate. Her name is Karliah. If you two could meet, perhaps you would come to like her as well. Granted, you would be pulled into the line of thievery if you would be able to handle the work. I can see you as an asset for the guild.
  
  The Rift in Skyrim is where I have come to revolve. I had never thought I would allow myself to be pulled into such a line of work. It has taught me to be neither heard nor seen. I owe that to Mel, though. Mel is a Bosmer like you and I. She has incredible skill when it comes to being neither heard nor seen.
  
  I have a lot to say about Mel. Funny I mention that, because she rarely speaks to anyone at all. I have only heard her voice two or three times. Delvin calls her Mouse, but everyone else calls her Mel or Melfundi, which is actually her full name. She and Delvin have one strange relationship and Delvin claims to have known Mel even before she had come into the guild when she was only fourteen. There are other times when the two of them seem to be having wordless conversations. I have had more than a few jobs with her.
  
  There are times when Mel's gone for a month or two. I always suspected that she'd be taking out multiple jobs at a time. But Delvin says that she leaves to visit her family from time to time and he never brings up the location. No one else in the guild questions it. I'm not sure what Mel thinks of me. She's never made an effort to let me know. Delvin just tells me not to take it personally.
  
  Enough about them. I have to focus on getting back to bring you to Chorrol.
