• Mel was born in Morrowind to Mayalas Jaels, a Bosmer-Dunmer mix. Her father was a Bosmer named Malego Dianna. Mayalas and Malego were never married and they didn't have a great relationship. Malego took Mel from her mother when she was only eight. He wanted to make her into a destruction mage to use in order to carry out operations that he undertook illegally. He was planning to exploit his own daughter. Mayalas tried to take Mel back, resulting in Malego's attempt to kill her. He failed the first time, but the second time he succeeded. He had performed the black sacrament and a Dark Brotherhood assassin came in did the job for him. With that, he took Mel and fled to Cyrodiil.
  
  From here, her past is a mystery. There is little that Mel decides to disclose to people, even those of the brotherhood. She has gained a reputation among the brotherhood in the Reach and the Falkreath holds as being one of the cleanest, quickest assassins that the brotherhood has brought up. She is silent but deadly, as true assassins should be.
