• Here are a few things to keep in mind should you want to roleplay your character in this setting;

  Magic Clarifications Magic use and users are totally allowed in The Under! That does not mean magic will work completely/correctly, though! The Under is its own most powerful entity and anything that challenges its 'powers' of natural creation, will not be tolerated; therefore magic is extensively stunted across the entire land body. There is nothing that can override this. Magic in The Under is incredibly difficult and exhausting to use, even for versed magic-users; it ultimately is not worth the effort it requires and therefore not a sound choice for traversing past the banks.
  
  The tallest trees in the heart of The Under and around that point grow as tall as this magic stunting 'field' goes. There's no escaping the reach as long as you're on the island.
  
  Character Death and Injury. Your character can die here if you want. Character death is always OOCly the player's choice and no one is forcing you to kill off your character. The Under is an excessively dangerous place and depending on however one decides to roleplay, will effect them differently.
  
  This being said, a choice way to randomly assess your damage and chances (optional), would be to use a die or dice roller, the low number being bad to absolute worst, with the highest being successful hits, missed encounters, and top-notch survival circumstance.
  
  

  A Campaign to the Heart (Coming Soon!)

  Through a series of 'survival checks' (courtesy of a d20) a character and their party can traverse through each ring of The Under -- how deep within they reach is completely up to the chance...

  
  
  'Taming' The Under's Beasts. No creature in The Under can be tamed or taken off the island alive. They will die within miles of being taken offshore and actually deteriorate at a faster rate. No creature on the island is or can be domesticated. It does not matter who your character is. No native animal will have an immediate or developed liking towards anything from the outside. No creature will have a positive inclination to your character; it will either be dismissive or hostile, depending on if they interact with them, or they are innately hostile creatures.
  
  Keep in mind that hypnotism/mind control and zombification spells/actions will work depending on the brain size of the creature and strength of the character using the spells.
  
  Hurting The Under. Only you can prevent forest fires. You're allowed to chop trees, pluck plant fauna, topple caverns, etc. The Under regrows relatively quickly so creating a noticeable dent in its ecosystem is going to be a trial.
  
  Everything is inhabited by fauna. Every tree, inland water body, cavern, hole, cave, etc. has Under life in it. Even in the Heart, where the water is heavy with salt and the air is thin in the tallest trees; organisms have adapted to the most adverse of climates. The ecosystem's tenacity is alarming...it's as if the forest itself has an sentient will to survive...
  
  The Under is large enough for some of its depths to remain undiscovered...and with that, a number of possibilities of how its subjects have adapted...and in some cases evolved. Finding a full-blown society/collective is highly unlikely. One may come along fellow adventurers though; dead, alive, taken over by a giant, mind-liquefying insect latched onto the nape of their neck...The Under is filled with horrifying surprises.

  **Keep in mind that players can create creatures to encounter as befits their playthrough -- while there are certain biological restrictions as to what those creatures can be, encounters are not exclusive to creatures featured only on this page. Remember to have fun, but don't god-mod the environment!
  
  If you're interested in having one of your original creatures be one of The Under's official fauna featured on the page, your beast will have to fall within certain parameters;
  
  

  The creature cannot be magic or have magical/arcane/divine elements.
  Nothing 'invisible', please; camouflage is okay.
  The creature cannot have a 'human' understanding of language/be able to converse. It must be an animal.
  No shapeshifters can 'live' in The Under as any form they take on. The Under knows what is and is not hers.
  No 'monster girls' or 'monster boys'. (IE. Make a creature. Not a person with weird ears and a tail)
  'Top of the food chain' creatures are reviewed with heavy scrutiny! Allow time for a curator to review and possibly reach out to you for creature discussion.

  
  If you're within those parameters then you've almost got yourself a creature application! Here's a barebones template (* = Required Field);

  Information to include; Population #, Size, Carnivore/Herbivore, Preferred Habitat, Flying/Aquatic, Distinctive noises, etc.
  *Descriptions/Variations ((Pictures are not required!))

  
  With an accepted creature application, the beast(s) will be featured on this page and open for public writing -- meaning, anyone who enters the under can encounter your species whether the creator is 'online' or not.
  
  Disclaimer: Not all applications will be accepted if they don't meet certain criteria or if the creature just isn't a match for The Under. Don't let it discourage you, but definitely do not spam applications.

  
  
  Roleplay 'Breaks' or Using The Under Without Having Visited
  
  The Under is not for 'adoption'. There will be no arguments otherwise. No one character ICly owns the island nor controls it; it is under it's own, natural influence. No one may roleplay otherwise as this is an original concept and was painstakingly and lovingly fostered. Don't be a dick and try to claim it for your character. ICly, The Under would not allow this and will take measures to bring the poser down a peg.
  
  If you need a breather, take a breather! No one's OOCly required to roleplay out their entire encounter/experience here. This setting can be name dropped, referenced to, and talked about ICly! Just be sure to give this page a visit to fact check if needed!
  
  
  We trust you to have common courtesy.
  
  RP is as fun as you make it; so don't make it an obligation or a chore. Hang loose and try to enjoy yourself!
