I'm wrapping my return topic and my pancake topic into one thing. I haven't been posting for a month or so because of work. Feels good to be posting and making a topic again.

Welcome, one and all, to the third annual edition of Pancake Madness. This originally started out as an idea during a New Years chat session here on rpr - the exact details are hazy right now, but the basic gist is that I wanted to do sort of a New Years thing for everyone, even though I had just joined. One of my friends mentioned pancakes and that got the ball rolling in my head: why name cast their names into a pancake effigy so they can live forever without wasting a wish on the dragonballs. Clearly, I had devised an almost divine plan. I started the topic, laid down some very loose ground rules, and just waited. No one was sure was to expect in that little soiree, but it actually turned out to be very fun for everyone involved. Even the giraffes and the sharks made out of broken dreams and mammoth cheese.

In 2013, the world was ablaze with the.prospect of our grand overlord Xenu returning, or space poop being pelted at us, forever rendering the world a bleak desert of brown. To ease your troubled mind, I instantly created a diversion: the Apocalypse Edition of Pancake Madness. This time, I knew what to expect, and went prepared into battle. My batter, however, was a different story. It was unruly and had to spend 7,300 years in the dungeon, or about 10 minutes a name in the oven, however you want to look at it. In 2011, my good friend Andryn helped out, however in 2012, I did it on my own (I didn't want to interrupt his Elder Gods worshipping ceremonies).

As another year passes by in the grand void of our lives, we are brought forth to the year 2014. A new era, full of possibility and those cheese sharks Kim keeps as pets. I shall raise to the challenge and cast a selection of you into the grand realm of immortality through my baked effigies.

Rules:
If you want a pancake/baked thing, just ask here. There is no guarantee that you'll get included - I usually limit it to around ten people or so, depending on how much batter I have, time, my energy level, etc. If you don't get your name cooked up, it doesn't mean I don't like you. I just ran out of time or energy.

It is first come, first serve. I am limiting the number I am making to around ten, give it take a few, and your name will be slightly abbreviated.

It might not get done immediately, but it WILL get done.

That's about it for rules for now.

In my excitement I forgot to roll my dice.

I see my challengers are starting to appear. All according to plan.

I'm thinking of upping the limit to something absurd, like twenty.

Also, a small note: I work a night shift from Thursday to Sunday as my job.

I am also pow wowing with Andryn about a possible live stream or at least recording this and uploading it somewhere like dropbox. Let me hear some input on this.

Something I just thought of: please include a 10d100 dice roll - 10 dice rolled at a value of 100. This will determine the pancake baking order.

I dunno if anyone cares...BUT, I did make heart-shaped pancakes for Valentine's Day! I took pictures, even, because it made me think of this particular thread.

Update on this: I'M going to do this next week. My apologies for not doing this way earlier, but my work tires me out pretty good - I work 36 hours in two or three day increments caring for mentally and physically disabled people - and I will be the first to admit I am lazy.

ALSO, before I forget: sorry I haven't been around for epic week, I've had some personal stuff going going on, spent a lot of time with my grandpa, if you catch my drift.

Post you want a pancake, include 6d100 dice roll (6 100 sided dice).

I have decided to forego the people limit this year. I will bake until I run out of batter or raw material. I will try my best to get everyone who posted.

If I decided to stop after a few dozen names and yours wasn't included, but you posted, I am genuinely sorry. The pancake summoning rituals generally require virgin goat blood, which is getting increasingly hard to acquire. Also, this usually ends up taking an entire day for me to do.
