In the Kingdom of Aisling, there are many of guilds that help keep the kingdom safe and running smoothly. The Knights Guild, the Ranger Guild, the Rider Guilds, and finally the Magic Guild.
The Magic Guild is among the most mysterious. There are different classes of magic such as nature magic, alchemy, and such. The most rare and feared is Necromancy.
Y/C is the only Necromancer in the Magic Guild after his master died. An eccentric and aloof man who is happy to play the vilified role that everyone forced him into. The murmur, the fear, the misunderstandings. He was use to it as long as he was allowed to conduct his studies and carry out his missions.
Every year, a group of eleven year old children with magical potential are sorted into the different school of Magic and assigned mentors. Y/C has happily been saved for five years from mentoring one of the little brats as necromancy is rare. Hell, he didn’t even attend the ceremony this year.
Too bad, he missed a tiny girl with red hair stepping on the platform and an illusion of a skull appearing over her head.
Suddenly, y/c has an apprentice in the form of Ove (my character). The human disaster whose emotions often lead her magic attempts to end in disastrous accidents.
Parenting is hard and teaching a child to bend the forces of life over death is even harder, especially with an impending war and the corruption that lives with in the kingdom.

Combat is expected as part of the storyline but it won't dominate the plot.
Romantic themes are possible, but won't pan out. For example: unrequited love.
