I have about 30 some alts.

Though I only use 2 of them just for rp.

An addendum that I'd add to my much earlier thought: The reason I limit myself to what I can actively handle and develop is because, personally, I hate when I RP with someone and invest time with them and then maybe get to play with the character two more times because they're handling 40 other alts, and none ever get any real development--so I hate doing that to anyone else. I had about a dozen lately, and I retired half for just that reason. Gave them their ever-afters and whatnot, well-deserved, so I can focus on the remaining -- and the people I'm spending time with through them.
