I have had these ideas for a little bit now but not sure what direction to take with it. So here are a few of the necessary items and some other ones that may not work with the character but are little bits I have floating around.
Main Three
Other Ideas
Main Three
-
- Is a female, at least mid-twenties.
-
- Shares her body with another being/consciousness(Think Eddie Brock/Venom or Steven Grant/Khonsu). Not sure what exactly is sharing her body so could be supernatural, alien, etc.
-
- Some sort of conflict between her and whatever is sharing her body.
Other Ideas
-
- Potentially Russian/Slavic background or heritage
-
- Older than she appears?
-
- A long list of deceased husbands.
-
- Connections to organized crime/something illegal, but no one is sure how because she comes off as incredibly innocent.
What if she shared the body with a biotech sort of thing? Like, it is obviously artificial due to it's insatiable curiosity, callous deadpan voice, a heavy focus on calculations, and a general inability towards creative, lateral thinking. Maybe these creatures were designed to bond with a human to bring out the best of both of them, with the biotech running all the background tasks and monotonous duties while the rest of the human mind can be entirely free to think as outside the box as possible?
Playing off KingDragon's idea here, perhaps the biotech creature has gone rogue or was designed to turned one into a super soldier or something when dominant? Perhaps these being also suppresses her memory when it's dominant too, explaining how she can be very innocent yet involved in crime? Put her to a lie detector and she really know what she, the biotech creature, has done, making it harder to prove her guilty.
Another idea, inspired by someone I've been talking to, perhaps she's possessed by the ghost of a mob boss or some other soul with grand ambitions in the crime world? Not satisfied with death, they try to use her body to continue their goals while she happily and cluelessly lives her more innocent life?

Maybe she was visiting her grandmother's grave when she touches the headstone a certain way and her grandmother's spirit enters her? She is them split not only with two personalities, but with a historical gap as well. Also, some old family secrets come to light as the two share their thoughts causing conflict. Maybe gramma was into bootlegging or was involved with a high-profile crime boss of the day, and that syndicate is still around?
Just throwing things out... more later.

I was thinking of the organized crime bit when this thought came to me.
What if this poor girl is innocent? For the sake of ease, let's call her Sarah as a name placeholder. So, Sarah is living a perfectly normal life, right? But each husband she gets married to dies through a series of tragic accidents. Accept one, one of them just mysteriously disappeared and no one ever found him (that's cause he's dead and no one has found the body).
But here's the twist. A local crime boss fell in love with Sarah but his advances got rejected (and repeatedly). He loves her, so is not willing to kill her. But every time she got married, he arranged one of his men to make it look like Sarah's current husband had an unfortunate 'accident'. His thought process is that if he can't have her, no one else can either.
Then one day the crime lord dies for some reason. Maybe another rival does it, perhaps even Sarah does it in self defense or something. Either way, this guy dies. But he refuses to fully die so he attaches himself to Sarah and now they share a body, each struggling to control it. And now he is with her her forever and she hates it so she goes on this epic journey to try and expel him from her.

I also very much like the idea of her being innocent. On top of that, she looks petite and fragile, but girlish pretty, which makes her look younger than she is. Her hair is long, straight and thin, and it usually falls in her face, as she likes to "hide" behind it because she's a person who's very uncertain of herself with low self-esteem as well. She's easily shaken and startled. The (toxic) men she's been with have loved these traits of hers, because they made her an easy target and open for exploitation. She's somewhat naive, and her life is usually shit. Sell her a fantasy and she'll buy it -- anything that sounds like a better life than her current state of being.
When the other being came into her life, it started ruling her and her life as everyone else had done. She fears it, and it is able to punish her if she does not heed its command. It makes her do things she never wanted to do, and it increases her body strength when needed for her own protection.
This other being does not eat human foods. As they both share her body now, she's forced to kill and eat raw human flesh at times. This is what happens to the men she seduces against her will.
