Anyone else making a fun costume or being something interesting?
Unfortunately, no. Not in real life, anyway. I kept trick or treating until I was nineteen. I'm twenty now, and I've given up. Last year didn't really go so bad- I actually got to trick or treat and got some decent candy, including some of my favorites (Hershey's special dark, and a white chocolate Kitkat bar).
But my friend bought me a costume, and it was entirely the wrong size. It was a child's costume. It had a hood with netting across the face to conceal it, but allowing you to look out, and when I put it on it squished my face as badly as wearing a nylon over my head would have. We never have any money, so I have no hope for a costume this year, and I'm just not really feeling it anymore. My hope is that we'll pick up some sweets from the store and I'll get to watch a Hellraiser marathon at home. (Hellraiser ftw!)
Oh, and likely my character will dress up. C: She loves to do creepy costumes. I think she was one of the people to win a costume contest one year.

Aw that's no fun! I'm 22 and Halloween is frankly my favorite holiday, hands down. My college room mate and I have started dressing up as our characters. Last year we did hers, this year we're doing mine. I'm going to be Mephorae I spent the last two days making horns, hooves and a tail. We're also going to have an artist alley table at an anime convention in two weeks so we thought it would be fun to dress up
What contest did your character enter and win? My main Rin has his birthday as Halloween because that's the day I made him and I usually do a little costume picture for him...Because I'm a dorkfish :B

AND HOW!
That sounds like oodles of fun. C:
It was, ummm, the Eisfest festival masquerade in Northkeep. C: I got character art of her by Heimdall. I think I still have it around here somewhere, lemme look.
BWAH, I can't find it! It's not under my Photobucket, and I can't find it on the old forum. Maybe Heims still has it somewhere.

Was that on Furcadia? I have to figure that thing out >< Everyone seems to have a hand in it.
Yes, yes it was! 8D The costume that won the contest was called The Skeleton Dress. It included a half-skull mask (it only came down over the upper lip) and a transparent fleshy pink dress reinforced with bones (a spine along the back, skull plates over the breasts) with a shiny lacquered red body suit underneath to make it look bloody. With these awesome boots that look like they have cloven hooves and dew claws on 'em.
YES I'M MAKING A COSTUME.
Halloween is by faaaar my favorite holiday. I have been saving for months and I just got back from four hours of fabric shopping (This was my second trip; the first was longer) getting material for a tudor-style gown. So far well within budget, even though I still need lots of notions and trim. I could not possibly be more excited for this dress.
And HECK YEAH I'm gonna trick or treat in it. Royalty is never too old for trick or treating.

Eir: Oh that does sound cool! That outfit was draw digitally or made in pixels or what?
Kim: AWESOME! I think we should all post pictures when we're done!! I should make a bio for the character of mine that Evilduckie is doing

@Kim: What's 'tudor-style'? Or maybe I should stop being lazy and go look it up. HIGH-FIVE on going trick or treating! I hope you have an awesome time!

Aw man, that seems like a lot of fun to draw something and then describe the outfit in how it is made and what it was made of. It's fantastic
The Tudors were a royal family that ruled England from the late 1400s to the early 1600s. King Henry VIII, Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Mary I (Better known as Bloody Mary) were all tudors. You may also know the famous Boleyn sisters, who married in. Their emblem was a white rose inside a red rose, because their house was created at the end of the war of the roses, when two noble families whose seperate emblems had been a white and red rose respectively merged to create the tudors. See, you probably knew a lot of these names, you just didn't know they were all tudor related!
So, in other words, a big renaissancey dress. I have something like 15 yards of fabric that all go into it!
Also, I am not ignoring our RP guys, honest, I am just crazy tired. Will post soon!

Ooh! That's really cool! Did the Tudors have a distinctive style, then? Or perhaps it will be based on a painting of one of them?
All right, thanks for checking in!

That sounds extremely challenging, Kim. To one such as me who is sewing-kit challenged, that will be an amazing feat of fabric-smithing.
This isn't actually completely done, I still have a lot of embroidery I want to do, and probably some nice gold accents to match the painting this was loosely modeled after... Although I picked slightly different colors than the painting.

Kay, during the day I was a renisance woman, no pics, sadly. And in the evening I was a crazy person in a white room, I was part of a house team. We scared the pants off of soooo many people.

Oh Man O_O
My pictures aren't NEARLY as nice...
I went as my character Mephorae and next to me (I'm the pink one) is Evilduckie227 as one of my profile-less characters, Dividé.
And a dark detail shot of the boots/hooves alone.

Whoa, is that photo shop or are you guys wearing colored contacts? Love the hooves!
Colored contacts ma'am.
They look really good! Can I ask how much something like that ran you?
