"Depends on the reason for being terrified. I doubt I'd do well in face-to-face encounters with horror film monsters. I'll just freeze up, or fumble and trip, or die, or all of the above. But if the danger is not accute, chances are I'll just go really quiet with a mind going miles a minute. Or I'd deliberately distract myself with something random until I feel normal again," – A chuckle interrupted their sentence as they remembered the many times they did the latter, – "like that time my friend took me to a rollercoaster for the first time and the following hours I got 'stuck' in a train of thought about spiders and their role in human settlements."
