Felt like doing a parental RP recently so here's my plot and information I'm proposing

General plot:
Your character (aging from elementary to young adult) is found in a troublesome situation and without a home. (It is your choice to make your character in some kind of danger, running from something, or simply homeless without any serious peril).
They come across a small rustic and cozy looking house after making it through the woods and eventually they meet the resident who lives there (my character). (Your character can either sneak around for awhile and eventually get caught, or approach my character and ask for help or something similar. The plot can even be my character finding your character before they reach the house. After a lot of hard decisions and bonding with your character, mine eventually decides to officially adopt yours.
(That is the end of the official plot, there can be extended plot after or it can come to a close).
About my character: (aka, the Parent
(In this Rp, the character can either be the male (dad) or female (mom) version of my OC. They both have basically the same personality. Please specifically request one or the other if you'd like to roleplay!)
Lochlyn/Leanna
Species: Madrid (species I made up)
Age: Late 30's
Lochlyn/Leanna is a canine Humanoid known as a Madrid. They're very tough spirited and have a deep connection with the forest, but don't mind socializing either and happily greet new faces unless they look suspicious. They are quite muscular in body build and can hold their own in a fight or stressful situations although they are rather peaceful so they like to avoid it.
They aren't experienced dealing with children or young adults for long periods of time but they can adjust (this is not to say they dislike them, they just don't normally deal with children). Although they are very calm and considerate most of the time they will become more stern if angered. Their favorite forms of entertainment are hunting, scavenging, and reading books. When in the company of others, they're likely to tell a tale, be it real or fake.
Setting Info
The setting of the plot takes place in a small town of animal humanoids, most native to the area while some are from foreign places. While not being on Earth, they heavily resemble earth creatures, and humans (unrelated to Earth, as we know it) also live on this planet as well as other forms of creatures both organic and inorganic.
Despite the characters being anthro animals, they are not exactly Furries. They are animal humanoids/anthro animals, but they take on much more human features with animal features thrown in. For example, they do not have paw pads but they do have paw like hands, they are not covered completely by lengthy thich fur, but instead are mostly skin with light fur on the back of their necks, arms, hands, legs, etc. They do have ears and tails like their animal counterparts, and fleshy noses that mimic the shape/design of the animals mouth but with a more mild approach to it.
They still have animalistic qualities and personalities though. In addition, while being based on animals, each species is just a bit larger than their earthly counterpart, for example, most dogs would be about the size of a human, with cats being shorter and deer being a lot taller than a human.
The town they live in is very similar to rustic human architecture with a few mild differences, such as the buildings are much larger to occupy both larger and smaller humanoid animals. The forest outside of the town is home to many bizarre critters that aren't directly Earth animals but act similarly to them, while being formed of different substances, such as magick, plants, metal, shadows, etc. The food as well is referred to by different names but resemble earth foods heavily.
Most species on the planet get along well but occasionally there are still some species that refuse to accept others or openly mock or harass them. For most though, this is not seen as a very large issue.
Final notes regarding picking/creating the character you will use for this RP, including misc.
•Can be any gender (LGBTQ characters welcome).
•Can be any species!
•Because this is not a technologically advanced world, no technologically advanced characters are allowed (Androids, AI, no use of modern cellphones or things like toasters either).
•Magic and powers are welcome but please keep them limited.
•Your character cannot be related to royalty or others if a high status quo (ex. Mafia, Gangs, Political Leaders etc.)
•Disabilities allowed!
•Your character can be fleeing from a tragic event or from dangerous people, but nothing so bad that it will endanger the lives of main characters.
•You are allowed to add in your own tidbits of world building such as creating races of animals or types of food or transport, but if you want to add cities, countries or economic/political events, please discuss with me first.
•Swearing is allowed.

Magic may be accepted as truth but is not common. It might be harnessed only by specific beings. Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones.
Industrial revolution
Unrest may be part of the setting, but any scenes that happen to involve combat may be summarized.
No romance at all will be included in this plot, period.
