Melody bowed her head in shame while she spoke. "Because he's my grandfather...." Melody whispered, tears running down her face. "H-he told me that I-i needed t-to g-go find a m-monster in our w-waters b-because the t-treaty p-prevents the d-demonic m-mermaids from h-hurting th-the sea l-life." She stuttered through the tears. "I d-didn't know y-you were h-helping.... I'm s-s-sorry." She added, sitting on the floor.

Viola sighed, and shook her head. "I see. I don't live with other mermaid demons, my "father" was the only one I had seen and I haven't seen him since I was 15. I didn't even know if their were any other merpeople in this world." She ran her hand through her black bangs, wondering on what to do. "I can't stay here. I have to work tomorrow and my mother will start to worry if I miss work."

"There ARE more demonic mermaids in this world but they keep to the trenches because of the treaty." Melody said, standing back up. "I'm soooo sorry, maybe I can talk to my grandfather about letting you go because you were helping the sea life and not hurting it." She added, a plan forming in her head.

(Lets wait until after everybody is asleep for Viola's father to come along. )

(Alrighty. For David, do you want a little kid pic or adult him pic?)

Viola sighed. "I doubt he would agree. He looks to be a stubborn man. At least tell him I didn't know about the treaty, I didn't even know you all were here." She said, still trying to figure out how she could have missed them.

(Kid plzzzz)
Melody nodded in agreement. "We are surrounded on all sides by the kelp forest you saw, and the closest trench is by the coast." Melody explained easily. "Atlantica is hard to find unless you know where it is." She added, turning to leave. "I'm still going to ask him, but I might not be able to make it back tonight. I'll try to come tomorrow, but there are no promises...." Melody sighed, swimming towards the door.

(Okay! )

Viola sighed and nodded, she sat down on the little "bed" in the cell. She was trying on thinking on what to do with all of this, it was not going well for her at all.

Melody swam through the palace quickly, avoiding the guard who had locked her in her room, to the throne room. She arrived several minutes later and saw that the only guard on duty was one of the few guards she had made friends with. "Hey Rich, is grandfather in there?" She asked him, making him jump. "Yes, would you like to talk to him." He asked, straightening up. "Yes please." Melody replied as he opened the door. "My lord, your granddaughter would like a word if you please." The guard introduced Melody as she swam in, ignoring the door shutting behind her.

The king sat on his throne like always, tiredness displayed across his face. "What is it Mel?" He asked, clearly annoyed for being disturbed. "Well... You know that girl you had me capture for you? Yeah, she didn't know about the treaty because she has no fatherly figure...." Melody tried to explain so her grandfather would let her go. "Melody, I shall not let a criminal go. Even if they didn't know about the treaty, they should not have wandered into our waters. You are dismissed." He explained, immediately dismissing her. "But why?" Melody shouted, surprising him. "Melody, I shall not argue with you when the generals shall be here any minute. Rich!" The king called the guard into the room, ignoring Melody's protests. "Take my granddaughter to her room and make sure she stays there this time." He ordered as Rich took Melody and guided her out of the room and up to her room.

Viola remembered something her father had taught her in case she every needed his help. She shifted into her demonic form, keeping the demonic side form controlling her. She closed her eyes and the little light that was attached to her head glowed brightly and then sent waves of distress. She was sending out a call for help, knowing her father would help her. Even if she didn't like him, he still came and helped her because she was the only daughter he had, the rest of his children were sons and didn't have as much power as she had. She could only hope that he wouldn't be the only one to come help her.

The call could not be heard by normal merpeople so no one knew but her. It stretched out across the ocean, reaching to the other mermaid demons, male and female. Viola's father had been the first to act on getting to her, the rest soon followed his lead to Atlantica.

Melody sat in her room with the guard right outside the door, twirling her hair and gazing out the window at the kelp forest. "Why does he have to be such a butt head." Melody mumbled to herself, getting up from her window seat. "Hey Rich, you got any food?" She called through the door, trying to get out of her room. There wasn't a reply and Melody assumed that he went to get something to eat, or do something else for the king besides watch his granddaughter. "Hope mom isn't worrying..." She continued mumbling, knowing that her mom wasn't worried when her mother and father were hosting balls at their palace on land. Melody sighed and flopped down on her bed, oblivious to everything around her.

Viola had not the slightest clue if her father was on his way to rescue her. She did not like how she had to call upon him to save her, but she couldn't do anything else.

The other demonic merpeople was already close to Altanica, there weren't a lot who had made it this far, most back down due to it only being saving one of their own so the job was easy enough. Viola's father, Cassuis, was the one leading the small group of demon merpeople.

Melody saw the small group of demonic merpeople entering the kelp forest and rushed to the door of her room, slamming her fists on the wood. "RICH!! THE DEMONIC MERPEOPLE ARE ENTERING THE KELP FOREST!!" She screamed through the door, pounding her fists with every word. "Melody, As I told you once before, the treaty prevents them from coming in our waters." He said calmly, no doubt with a smile on his face in disbelief. "I swear on Atlantica this is true Rich!!" She continued to scream, finally getting Rich's attention. Melody never sweared on anything before, not even something he knew was true. "Get somebody to intercept them before it's too late!!" She yelled, finally hearing Rich's footsteps hurry down the steps to the throne room. Hopefully they won't be too late....

The demonic merpeople had kept themselves hidden at best. Once they located Viola, her father went up to the wall that was stopping Viola form swimming out. He quickly knocked the wall down, but not by a lot, just enough for her to squeeze through. She quickly swam out of the cell, thanked her father and the rest of the demonic merpeople. They swam off, away form Altanica before they all got in trouble.

By the time the guards got out to the courtyard the demonic merpeople were nowhere to be seen, neither was Viola. Rich came back up to Melody's room and spoke to her through the door. "Your grandfather said you are confined to your room until further notice, he will contact your parents to tell them as well." He said, his tone full of disappointment. "Rich, there were Demonic Merpeople!! I'm telling you!" Melody yelled, slumping against the door. Why does nobody believe me? She asked herself, going over to her bed and laying down on it. She brought the covers over her head and fell asleep, her dreams filled with the demonic merpeople.

The king was on his throne talking to the guards, disappointed in his granddaughter for tricking him again. First it was the killer whales, then it was the jellyfish. She just couldn't stop could she? He sighed and dismissed the guards, resigning to his room minutes later.

Viola was glad to be free and once they had all got back to the trench at the coast, she glared at her father. "Why didn't you tell me about the treaty?" She demanded, clearly angry at him. Cassuis just grinned and ruffled her hair. "Because the treaty was signed after the last time we met, Viola." He said still wearing a grin. "Anyway, is that how you talk to your father? Or the man who just saved you?" He said making Viola let out a irritated sigh. "No sir. I must be going now. I have work tomorrow." She said, swimming up to the surface and switching into her human form. She swam to land and grabbed her things after she located them.

The king fell asleep several hours later, most of the guards in the kingdom stationed around his and Melody's rooms.

Melody slept soundly, turning every once in a while with her dream. She dreamed about meeting Viola again and inviting her to stay at the palace her parents owned on land. It was by the sea so Viola would be happy, just as Melody always was. Melody woke up with the urge to pee, carefully untangling herself from her blankets she went to the bathroom. After going, she washed her hands and looked at herself in the mirror. Everybody always thought she was perfect, everything she did was elegant. Even when she messed up they congratulated her for getting back up, it was annoying sometimes. She just wanted to be a normal kid in just one of her worlds, just for a day. Yawning, Melody went back into her room and laid back down on her bed. She pulled the covers up to her chin and fell right back asleep.

Viola had lived most her life as a normal girl, even at the age of 24, she still lived a normal life. It was only her mother and her mother's husband that knew of Viola's powers. They didn't treat her differently though, which was good for her. She never told any of her friends, worried that they would be scared of her and leave her side. She quickly went home, seeing that it was getting late and she was a adult woman in a bikini, most rapists would go after her if she stayed out late. She wasn't going to end up like her mother, she would be stronger and not let this world control her. She soon got home and locked the door behind her, glad to be somewhere familiar.

This time Melody dreamed of the Demonic Merpeople raiding the castle and stealing everything, even her. She thrashed in her covers, convinced they were ropes bound around her, and started screaming in her sleep. It wasn't until Rich heard her did she stop after he woke her. "It's ok." He said soothingly, hugging her while she cried against his chest. "It's all ok. Just go back to sleep and I'll stay here all night." He added, listening to see if the other guards had awoken from the screaming. Once he was sure nobody else in the castle was awake he laid Melody down again and sat in a chair beside her bed, watching her fall asleep again.
(Lol, can't do much if she is asleep. O_o)

(Wanna do a time skip? Melody could go to the Marine Lab that Viola works at, it is usually open for people to see the work being done there.)

Melody woke up the next morning with a killer headache and Rich sitting beside her in the chair. Melody smiled and grabbed her extra bag, running out the door to her room and locking it behind her. It was too early for most of the Merpeople in Atlantica to be awake so she shot through the streets like a bullet, arriving at the gate in record time. Her grandfather knew that she would always find a way to get out, it was just a matter of time and he never worried.

Melody swam through the ocean without a worry, arriving at the beach in no time. She climbed out of the water, her tail turning back into her legs when they hit the air, and climbed up the cliff to get her stuff. Checking her cell phone, she saw that she had a text message from her mom telling her to meet at the Marine Lab later. "Okie dokie." Melody said with a smile, puling on some jeans and a tank top over her bathing suit.

(I went ahead and did the time skip. )

Viola woke up the next morning at the usual time, too early. She got out of bed, showered, and dressed for work. She dried her hair and put a little make-up on, just some cover up. She quickly walked to work, wearing her uniform which was a simple light blue shorts and t-shirt with a little sign on it that was the logo of her Marine Lab on the left breast. She got there before the others, put her white lab coat on and got a bucket of the food for the dolphins there. She went up to their tank and began to feed them while also talking to them a bit.
