The boy walked into the room. "Taking a break. I'd be careful in here if I were you. The chef is really mean and works by himself in here. I'm eren by the way. And she's cassie."

David nodded, taking his hands out of his pockets. "Nice to meet you, I'm David." He said with a shrug, not knowing why he was introducing himself.

"Don't worry, we're not as mean as our father. He's really our stepfather to be honest. Our mother married him and we moved to this house. After a couple of months she fell ill. Now its just us." Cassie began to cry and sat down on the floor. "Father is mean and doesn't want anything to do with us. We want to escape but we're scared."

"I'm sorry." He said, sitting down on the floor next to Cassie, wrapping his good arm around her. "My parents died when I was really young, along with my sister and brother." He said, trying to comfort her. A plan was forming in his head to get all three of them out, without sneaking out.

Suddenly footsteps and a voice with a French accent could be heard. "We can't talk here. Lets go to the playroom." Eren grabbed both of them by the hand and ran.

David ran with Eren, his feet making soft thumps because he had no shoes on. "Where is the playroom?" He asked quietly, running alongside Eren now.

Eren continued to run and hold his sisters hand as he talked to David. "We're almost there. Alexander is there already."

"Who is Alexander?" David asked, easily keeping pace with Eren.

"Our dog." Caddie answered him. Eren turned a corner and there was a hallway with a door at the end. "There it is!"

"Oh, ok." David said, understanding now. He sprinted towards the door and yanked it open, allowing the other two to go in before him.

Eren let his sister go in and then walked in. "Come in David."

David went in after them, closing the door behind him. "Won't I get in trouble if your stepdad finds me in here?" He asked, clearly nervous.

Eren shook his head no. "He nevers comes to check on us in here so you should be fine."

"Ok." David said, relaxing a bit and sitting down on the floor. "So, why didn't you try to escape when you find out he was evil?"

"He threatened to kill cassie. She's the only family I have left and I don't want to lose her." Eren explained.

"That's horrible!" He said, outraged. "But, if we can catch him in the act we can escape? Right?" He said, forming a plan in his mind.

"What do you mean?" Caddie asked as she sat next to Alexander. Alexander was close to a dog but not necessarily. To be honest he was an adult grey wolf.

"Like, if we videotaped him abusing us. (Idk, what time era this is.... O_o I can change it late if you want.) "Then, they would have to choice but to give us a different family." He said, happy with his plan.

Eren shook his head no. "Father has the police in this area wrapped around his finger. We would only get ourselves in trouble." Eren said sadly. "If only a beautiful angel would come and save us. She could take us to where we could be safe."

"Oh." David said, hanging his head. When he said the second part, David got a really good idea. "Is there a phone I could use and not get interrupted?" He asked, biting his lip.
