"Yeah, there's one in here." Eren pointed to a phone on a pedestal in the corner. "Why?"

David got up and hurried over to the phone, easily dialing Grace's number. He listened as the dial tones went off, waiting for her to pick up.

Emily heard the phone ring and answered it. "Hello?"

"Emily! Is Grace there?" He asked, clearly desperate to talk to Grace.

"Hold on." Emily brought the phone to grace, who was still sitting in bed. "Phone for you misstress. And it sounds urgent." Grace took the phone from her. "Hello?"

David waited while Emily brought the phone to Grace, tapping his foot impatiently. "GRACE!" He said happily, probably surprising Eren and Cassie. "I need your help!" He said urgently, putting his bad arm over his chest.

"David? Where are you? And what do you need my help with?" She asked. Eren and cassie sat somewhat surprised by his yelling.

"Uh, I don't really know where I am but I can ask." He said holding the phone to his chest now. "What's the address of this house?" He asked, worried that Grace wouldn't know where it was.

"46 barley street." Cassie said sheepishly.

David mouthed thank you and brought the phone back up to his phone, relaying the information. "46 barley street." He said. "Please come get me, I don't like it here. The dad is really mean to me and his two kids, he slapped me when I got here!" He added, a single tear coming down his face.

(Wouldn't it be cool if the stepdad actually caught them?)

"Don't worry. As soon as its night time I'll come and get you guys. Don't cry and tell the others to remain calm." Grace promised.

(I've got an idea. )

David nodded, forgetting that he was on the phone. "Ok." He said, glancing around. "I'm going to hang up now so I don't get in trouble." He whispered, trying not to cry. "I love you Grace." He added before hanging up.

Grace hung up as well. "Who was that?" Eren asked him.

"It was the woman who was taking care of me before the mean lady in the suit took my from the hospital after I broke my arm." He explained, sitting against the wall. "She said she is going to come when it is night and take us all away." He added.

"Do you mean that we can finally be free? Will she take us in?" They both asked.

"I think so, either that or she will give you to a really good family. One that actually cares." He said reassuringly, hugging his knees to his chest.

"Well what do we do until then?" Cassie asked. Suddenly, the room was filled with the sound of someone struggling to open the door. "Eren you open this door you little maggot!" Eren turned to David. "Hide!" He whispered.

David looked around quickly and found a chest in the corner, moving towards it quickly. He climbed in it without a sound, holding his breath and wincing when his arm grazed against a side.

Eren unlocked the door and his father came in. "What is going on in here? Is that slave boy in here?" Eren shook his head no.

David stayed as quiet as he could in the chest, his breathing slow and dust tickling his nose. Please go away, please go away. He pleaded in his head.
