"David, how skid you do those things back at the other mansion? Did he experiment on you? You're not still hurt anywhere, are you?" Grace began to fire off questions in rapid speed, still checking her little brother for wounds he might've been hiding.
"I don't think I'm still hurt. He didn't experiment on me that I can remember." David replied, yawning a bit and trying to answer her questions to the best of his ability. "And I-I don't really know how I did those things. I just know that I didn't want him to kill you."
Grace stopped searching him. "Well, I'm just glad your safe at home again." She sighed.
David nodded in agreement, closing his eyes again. The events from today kept playing through his mind over and over, something not quite right but he couldn't put his finger on it.
The sound of a squeal and the sound of dropping glass could be heard deeper into the lab. "Alyssa!" Grace ran to where the scientist was. When she found her, Alyssa stood in front of a table that had broken glass and David's blood sample on it. And circling, around on the blood, was a small tornado. "I'm not sure what's wrong with him, but that boy isn't completely human anymore. From what I could gather from his blood he was at least at one point, but somehow he got some strange abilities."
David heard the squeal and the crash, his eyes snapping open. He managed to push himself up and swing his legs off the table, his head a little dizzy. "I-is everything Ok?" He called, holding his head in his hands to keep from puking.
"Yes, everything's fine." Grace assured him. Alyssa looked at the puddle. "I'm going to do some more research on this stuff and tell you what I find."
"Ok." David called back, swinging his feet. He yawned again an tried to find a clock in the lab, looking over some pretty cool things in the process.
Grace came back to where he was and sat down in a chair nearby. "Man am I tired." She thought out loud.
"Same here." He said with a strained laugh. "Can I go to bed?" He asked, resting his head back onto his hands.
"Sure." Grace walked over to him. "Do you want me to carry you or can you walk?"
"I don't think I can walk." He said, holding his arms up so she could pick him up.
Grace picked him up and walked out of the lab, headed towards the stairs. As she climbed The stairs, she talked to him. "So how does it feel to be truly at home again?"
David rested his head against her shoulder and welcomed the bumps every time she climbed a step. "It feels," He started, a yawn escaping his lips. "Awesome." He finished, smiling lightly.
Grace walked to his bedroom and opened the door, carefully putting him in bed. "I'm glad."
David smiled again, laying his head against his pillow. "Can you please tuck me in, Gracie?" He asked, yawning once again.
Grace nodded her head yes. She pulled the covers over his body and kissed him on the forehead. "Goodnight, David."
"Night night Gracie." He said, closing his eyes and falling asleep.
Grace quietly left his room and closed the door behind her. She then went into her own room and got into bed.
David turned over in his sleep, having good dreams instead of nightmares. The covers slipped down a bit on his body, all his bandages visible.
