"Here, lets get you inside and find you a room." Grace let go of the chain and instead grabbed David by the hand and lead him inside. The inside of the mansion was more beautiful than the outside.glass chandeliers hung from the ceiling and maids walked around cleaning things. "You'll be working here from now on. But don't worry, I won't beat you unless you make a seriously grave error."

David nodded and followed her in, still shocked at how large the mansion was. It was even more beautiful then the outside, if that was even possible. "O-ok, Mistress." David said, watching the many maids go around and clean things.

Grace lead the boy up a staircase and stopped in front of the door at the top. "This is my room. If you need anything early in the morning I'll be in here." Grace lead David to another room a little further down the hallway to a door. It was less fancy than hers but it looked nice nonetheless. "And this is your room, David." Grace opened the door, revealing a room with a comfortable looking bed and a desk. "Its a bit empty but we can buy you stuff to put in it."

(Sorry for the late reply, I was taking a shower and getting ready for bed. If I don't respond the next time that means I'm sleeping.)

David nodded in understanding, wondering if she ever got lonely in this big house. When she walked carter down the hall to another door his mouth almost dropped open again. "I g-get my o-own r-room?" He stuttered in amazement, never before having a room to himself. He had always been sleeping with other people or in a cage, save for the few times he slept in the dog house for doing something bad.

Grace looked down at him. "Of course. Everyone who works in this house has their own room. I'm not as cruel as your previous masters from the sounds of it. Why don't you wait here and wait for me? I have something I have to get and then I'll be right back I promise."

"Wow." David said simply, nodding at her next sentence. He walked over to the bed and laid down on it, the softness swallowing him. "It's soooooo soft." He said to himself, staring up at the ceiling.

(Lol decided to wait a bit. )

Grace ran to her room and grabbed her katana and then ran back to David's room. "I'm back. Now come here for a second." She ordered him.

David watched her run out of the room, and right back in. Her obligued, not knowing what she would do but guessin she wouldn't hurt him badly.

Grace looked at the shackles he wore as she unsheathed her katana. "Now just stand still. I don't want you to fidget while I'm doing this and end up hurting you."

David's eyes widened as she unsheathed her katana, scared about what she was going to do. He let out a small breath of relief when he realized that she was just going to cut the shackles off. Nodding, he spread his legs out and pulled his pants legs up a bit so she wouldn't accidentally cut them.

Grace brought her sword down on the chains, cutting them easily. "Alright. Now you sort of don't look like a slave. We can get you some new clothes tomorrow though." The girl sheathed her blade and looked at him. "Now, I only have a couple easy rules you need to follow. One, don't lie to me. Two, feel free to talk to me about anything. Three, never run away. You're not a slave in the sense that I'll beat you if you try but you will make me worry about you and send people after you or find you myself. I don't have any family left either, so I need you here with me." A tear ran down graces face as she spoke of her family.

Nodding again, David sat on the edge of the bed and listened to her lay out the rules. When she was finished, David pulled his knees up to his chest and whispered ever so softly. "Please don't cry." He pleaded, not liking when people cry or when they are upset.

Grace wiped the tears from her eyes. "You're right. Anyway, how about some dinner? Its been a bit of a long day."

"Ok." David said with a bright smile, slipping off the end of the bed. "Can I help make it?" He asked, excited about the possibility of helping.

Grace smiled at him, happy he was willing to help. "If you wish. Usually the maids have it prepared by now but if you wish we can go see if they need any help. Lets go David." Grace grabbed David by the hand again and lead him to the kitchen. The kitchen was definitely the loudest place in the entire house. The maids ran around stirring things in pots and chopping up vegetables and meat, putting them either in pots or putting them on separate plates that already had vegetables and other things on them. "Go ahead. Go ask if they need any help." Grace motioned for him to go in and talk to someone.

David happily came along, an excited smile showing on his face. He cringed from the loud noise of the kitchen but recovered quickly when he saw all the maids making dinner and running around. Taking a deep breath, David went in and walked up to the nearest maid prepared for anything that might happen. "Excuse m-me?" He started, the loudness of the kitchen making his voice sound like a whisper. "M-may I help?" He asked a little louder, almost positive that the maid would hear him.

When he spoke up, the maid looked down at him and smiled. "Why sure! And who might you be little one?" The maid brought out a small stool so he could stand and use the cutting board.

David smiled and stepped onto the stool, using the counter for support. "David, and whats your name?" He asked politely, washing his hands in the sink beside the cutting board.

(I'm assuming that there is a sink there. )

"Emily. Nice to meet you David. Now, could you cut up these carrots for me?" The maid offered him the knife so he could chop the carrots.

"Yes Ma'am." David replied, giving a small hand salute before gently taking the knife from her and getting to work on the carrots. He tongue stuck out as he concentrated on cutting the carrots evenly, his hands moving at a steady pace.
