Grace smiled at him. "Thank you. When did she disappear? Do you remember?"
"Um..... around six years ago. About the time my parents died." He said, picking his head up from her shoulder and sitting on the ground next to her.
"What a coincidence. That's around the same time my parents died and my brother disappeared." Grace said, trying to make him feel at least a little bit comforted.
"I guess it really is a small world." David said, trying to lighten the subject. "You said you come out here to read right?" He asked, changing the subject.
Grace nodded her head yes. "Although sometimes I just come out here and enjoy the quiet."
"Well, I ace you like to read...." David started, a bit embarrassed. "Will you teach me?" He asked, his eyes sparkling with the possibility.
Grace looked down at him. "Of course. I'd love to. I guess it would make sense that you were never taught how."
"Thank you!" He exclaimed happily, giving Grace another hug.
Grace hugged him back. "You're welcome."
David smiled and pulled away first, a question in his head. "When can we start." He said with a laugh.
Grace yawned and stretched. "Well, I am a bit tired so I guess we could start tomorrow."
"Ok." David said, looking up and realizing that it was twilight now. He yawned as well, surprised about how tired he was. "I guess tiredness is contagious." He laughed, his smile brightening up his tired face.
Grace got up from her chair. "I guess its time for bed."
"Yuppie doodies!" David said with another yawn, getting up from his spot on the ground. "I have a pretty stupid question...."
"What is it David?" She asked, curious as to what he meant by a stupid question.
"When we go upstairs, w-will you t-tuck me in?" He asked, making the second part come out faster then he expected.
"Of course. Lets go back inside David." Grace began to lead the way back to the house.
David smiled and followed Grace back to the house, pausing only to touch a small flower that was struggling to survive.
When they got through the hallway, grace walked up the stairs that lead to the bedrooms and walked up to the door to David's room. Grace opened the door and stepped to the side so he could enter.
Following Grace, he noticed that they didn't pass the portrait again. Thank the gods. David entered him room, walking over to the grand bed in the middle of the room. "Wow, I still can't believe this is my room." He said with a tired yawn.
